I was here yesterday celebrate my grandmother's birthday day with my family large group 20+, with that being said we only had 1 server her name was Mary and she was great despite everything that she had to deal with and Blanca the manger helped with the drinks. It took a while to get orders placed because she was by herself. I asked her if we could get separate checks, she asked her manger Blanca and was told she could only do i separate check and to put all the rest on 1 bill without informing any of us in the party. So the food took a while to come out and some people were missing food that the never received, we didn't really get our drink refill because Mary was to busy taking orders, then putting them in the register and handing out food to notice drinks where low and the place was not busy at all no one helped her. Then we were getting ready to leave that is when we are informed of the 1 bill, so I asked to speak to the manger because we got multiple different parties and payment methods. Blanca said they could only do one bill, I told them that would not be possible if we could split it into different checks, there were 2 mangers, 2 other employees talking trying to figure out what to do and came up with nothing, so I had to ask for paper go around and ask everyone there order, separate checks and the go help Mary separate them in the register because the managers Pedro and Blanca acted like the couldn't help Mary when she was asking, then Mary push a button and it separated different items in 3rd neither manger could help her fix it and then all like 7 checks we split disappeared, so by the end of all of the Blanca tell Mary to just re-ring everything new. And after all the inconvenience they didn't want to comp or discount anything. Not being racist at all my family is African American, but Mary was the only white person on staff of all Hispanic and she was being ignored by the cook and disrespected and used a scapegoat for management for their mistake. And the food was not that good they ran out of fries and had to serve us tater tots and ran out of an appetizer. The Meatloaf was not good looked like fake meat sliced into layers like a gyro and my steamed vegetables were hard. I came here to enjoy my grandmother's birthday and some good food, but instead I went there to work and have the management...
Read moreI used to work here. I know what goes into the food and how it's prepared. I was putting pies that were just delivered one morning and when I got to a French Apple one I saw a long hair, not sitting on top of the pie like it had just fallen, but actually baked in. I told my manager (Shana) to follow me to the back so I didn't have any of the customers hear me tell her about what I had found. We go to the back, I tell her, she proceeded to pull out what looked to be a 5 inch strand of hair covered in crumbs and pie filling, toss the hair on the floor, hand me back the pie, and told me to go put it back on the shelf. I experienced that first hand. On thanksgiving 2012 we had our pie tent and to make things faster we pre boxed all the pies. A load of cherry pies were delivered to our store and a lady had purchased one and called later stating that the bottom of the pie tin was so greasy that it ruined her table cloth. My friend who was working that day (I had already gone home) told the woman she could come down for a new one and that they'd make sure to clean the pie tin prior to her arrival. My friend then went and got another cherry pie and the same manager that pulled out the hair took the pie out of the box to clean it and found a cockroach inside the box (not the actual pie) and it was apparently still alive. Now from what I heard, the pie not only wasn't discarded immediately after they found it, but it was also then sold. Almost everything there is not fresh and they use their microwaves more than the stove or oven. On top of the fact that they're charging outrageous amounts for food that is the cheapest of quality. You're better off buying the Marie Callender's frozen dinners than you are coming here. It's the same stuff and you microwave it just like they do. Only difference is you don't have to press a button and you get someone to come to your table to hand you the food. Save your time and money and health. This place is a sad excuse for...
Read moreWe definitely came in on a training day. Staff seemed confused and weren't sure which orders were taken, kitchen took about five minutes to tell our waiter that they were out of the appetizer we ordered, and the meal itself was a bit more cafeteria food then I remember-- the vegetables were not quite fork tender and the meatloaf looked like it had been put into a blender, poured into a tray, and heated to an internal temperature of 165 without managing to develop a crust. Tasty for hospital food. The lack of an expediter and non-communication from the kitchen also meant our food sat in the window for roughly five minutes before our waiter found it and brought it to us.
All that and you gave it four stars? Yes, and our waiter Ricky was the saving grace. I can forgive a lot, training needs to happen, cooks have to deal with what they have in front of them, and no manager appeared physically present. Ricky was a one-man show watching five tables and delivering food like he owned the place. The pot roast was also prepared well and, without being too critical, left us both feeling satisfied.
The meatloaf sits on my countertop, unloved, and I'm still not entirely convinced it's not a kind of beef bologna served in a loaf form.
12/25/2022 Update: My wife got a ham served with a sweet and sour pineapple chutney which harmonized with the plate about as well as a Mariah Carey song sung by a mariachi group with gongs instead of guitars. Steam vegetables were hatchet soft. Server was great and we left a decent tip for...
