This is one of the worst food experiences I've ever had. I was craving a bagel with lox and placed an order via grubhub.
First of all, and prepare yourself for this... There was a bite taken on the side of my bagel and then it was toasted and smeared with cream cheese to cover it up. You know how i know that? When i noticed that one side of the bagel was short, Ilooked closer and that's when I saw teeth marks from a bite!!! Teeth marks!!! This is unbelievably gross and unsanitary and just so wrong and disgusting! I can't even shake the disgust I'm feeling right now! Whoever did this - that's some baaaaad karma!!
As if this wasn't enough, the bagel itself was extremely messy and soggy. The bagel was supposed to come with a tomato, onion, lox, cream cheese, and capers. I've always ordered from Einstein's and they're pretty stingy with cream cheese. Since this was my first time ordering from New York's Bagel N Bakery, just in case, in notes to my order, I asked for extra cheam cheese and extra tomatoes and to add a cucumber since there was no option to customize my order. They charged me $1 for the cucumber, which is by the way a price for a whole cucumber these days. But get this: when i got my order and opened the container, before i discovered the teeth marks, first thing i saw was how sloppy and messy the bagel was. There was a ton of cream cheese slapped on the bottom part of the bagel to the point that it was literally coming out from all places and it was all over the container. I'm pretty sure that was also done to cover the teeth marks. Of course they probably didn't expect that all that cream cheese will fall off the bagel because there was so much of it. To make you understand, there was so much of it that the ONE piece of tomato (thanks for the extra i asked!) and TWO TINY slices of cucumber they charged me $1 for, were falling of the bagel and wouldn't stay on it. There was a very thin layer of salmon that also wouldn't stay on the bagel as everything was slipping off of it. But they were the most generous with red onions which there were like 6 pieces. Thanks a lot! And by the way, there were NO capers at all! And the top part of the bagel didn't have ANY cream cheese at all and was bone dry!
This was the most disgusting experience I've ever had with food delivery! Someone needs to report them for health violations such as giving their customers half bitten bagels! Maybe that someone should be me actually!
Sheer disrespect! I feel dirty! I feel like i was sent sloppy messy gross leftovers from someone else!
Unfortunately, i was so grossed out by the food and felt so outraged, i felt the compulsion to throw it out and away from me as soon as possible and I forgot to take a photo. But trust my word, this is not the place you ever want to order...

Read moreUpdate The server seemed like she'd rather be at home sleeping than serving us. When we started to order two sandwiches, she immediately said "only one at a time, please!" in a curt manner. I looked for orange juice in their cooler, but there was none. They would rather sell their expensive fresh squeezed orange juice. So, I asked how big is their orange juice, and she said 20 oz. After I finished it, knowing I wasn't drinking a 20 oz drink, I could clearly see 16 oz printed on the bottom of the cup. Please don't lie to me, or at least know what you are selling! The lox was good and fresh. The BLT wasn't very big or good. The orange juice was okay. It was nice to have a place inside to sit down and eat breakfast. But, please know your serving sizes and try to be friendly to your customers. Maybe a smile?
Old We were greeted by friendly staff as we entered. They look like they have a pretty good selection, even though we came in 30 minutes before closing. Sure, they were out of some of their more popular bagels, but that can be expected at this time of day. We ordered a couple of bagel lox sandwiches, and they were very good, ample cream cheese (one light cream cheese, as ordered), plenty of tomato, capers, onions and lox. I just wish the lox was sliced large, instead of minced. It fell off the sandwich quite a bit because of the small pieces. The drinks are reasonably priced. Nicely decorated interior with lots of New York decor. We look forward to coming back to try their deli sandwiches!
Original Nice selection of bagels and bakery items. Friendly service. Nicely decorated interior with sports and city life themes. No fountain drinks, but a nice variety of canned and bottled drinks are available. They were out of plain bagels when we were there. The bagels we...
