This Tommy’s is in Las Vegas, Nevada. But I was really surprised to find that it does a good job with following up with the recipe from the original Tommy’s in Los Angeles, CA on Beverly Blvd. and Rampart Blvd. Now I KNOW Tommy’s! I basically was almost raised in Tommy’s, as for the longest time from the late 1970’s to some time in the mid 1980’s, I live like three blocks away from the original establishment, and I worked in a bagel bakery (Brooklyn Bagel Bakery) just less than half a mile away too. As a matter of fact, I remember that the original Tommy’s owner was a very great man who supported my high school too, Belmont High School. He was not only a good kind man, but to many of us he served as a mentor and roll model to strive for greater success in life. This is one big reason why I think that I felt a great connection to these sometimes messy chilly burgers! Knowing, and having had the pleasure of growing up with the original Tommy’s, I gave in to my nostalgia, and my parents (who now reside in Vegas themselves, and I in Yuma, AZ) and I picked up a few burgers and hot dogs to eat. While we were inside the Las Vegas Tommy’s restaurant we were surprised to find a familiar face STILL working in the Tommy’s chain since the early 80’s! I can’t recall her name now, but she’s a sweet and talkative lady from El Salvador, and once we shared our history of the old shack in LA she shared her experience with her working with Tommy’s for so many years. We both remembered Mr. Tom kindly too, and wished that he would still be here today too, as many things did change, and sadly it was evident in the taste of the original recipe too. But again, I was impressed with how good this Vegas Tommy’s was, and I hope that I get to visit it again someday soon while visiting my family out there. Sadly, we don’t have a Tommy’s in Yuma, Arizona, but I think that it would do well in the small town because the town is growing with the mass migration coming out of California these days. Maybe we’ll see one pop up soon. So stop by Tommy’s in Vegas and enjoy a cheeseburger and...

The burgers here are nothing short of amazing. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, with perfectly seasoned patties that are juicy and cooked to perfection. The buns are fresh and and full of flavor. Whether you opt for a classic cheeseburger or one of their creative specials, you're in for a treat.
The chili is a standout dish on its own. Rich, hearty, and bursting with spices, it's the ultimate comfort food. You can tell it's made with a perfect balance of heat and flavor that makes it an ideal topping or standalone dish.
The chili cheese fries are a must-try. Crispy, golden fries smothered in that delicious chili and topped with a generous helping of melted cheese – it's indulgent, satisfying, and incredibly delicious. This is the kind of dish you'll find yourself craving again and again.
What sets them apart even more, is the exceptional service. The staff are friendly, attentive, and seem to actually like their job.
While the restaurant may be small, it's cozy and clean. There's a fun welcoming vibe you get right as you enter the door.
Overall, this place is a hidden gem that delivers on every front. Amazing burgers, outstanding chili, mouth-watering chili cheese fries, and top-notch service – what more could you ask for?

Read moreHeard what a "GREAT" burger could be had at Tommy's. What am I missing? Meat (?) patty was paper thin and tasteless, cheese was greasy (tasted like velvetta, yeah I know, but some people call that cheese), chili tasted like paste, tomato was not ripe. Oh wait..the diced onions were GREAT ! ! The staff, English obviously being their second language, had the personality of garden slugs. Then there is the even more obvious flaw. The location sucks, being tucked in the corner of an afterthought of a parking lot. There is practically no parking near the front door. You have the empty location of the previous BUZZ BBQ where people can actually see you and park close to the door that would have been a better choice. Actually Tommy probably did us all a favor hiding this horrible excuse for a burger joint where customers are not actually tempted to spend their hard earned money. Do yourself a favor...
