When we went here, we were looking to cater our annual fundraiser Christmas party. This year we were going to do a dessert and cookie bar along with a champagne bar. We had been to a birthday party that featured a couple of cakes from Kneaders and were beyond impressed with the quality and flavor, so we decided we would go with them for our party. Well, it did not go as planned. I am a retail manager with over 20 years of high end experience. If ANY of my employees treated a customer the way we were treated, the would no longer have a job. We walked in, immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the place and the beautiful displays. Our experience then nosedived. We waited for 20 to 25 minutes (not really a big deal as we were looking at displays and others were in front of us) for the associate to take the orders of patrons in front of us. Once done, our turn arrives. But the employee, who plainly, and without doubt, saw us and walked off, going behind the counter. Thinking she would be right back we continued to stand there. After five minutes more of being in plain view of her (she was stirring various soups) we finally asked a simple question of another associate. Very simple, we asked "for orders of several dozen cookies and desserts, is there a bulk discount?". Fairly normal question. We thought. Nope. Associate wasn't sure and asked the manager on duty behind the counter. He rudely stated that we weren't going to get any special pricing no matter what we ordered, or how much. Now I am irritated. I don't care about a discount. It was just a question. I am sick of waiting to be acknowledged and very irritated over the attitude. So, after about 35 to 40 minutes in store, we walked out. Went to another dessert bakery and was promptly, and pleasantly assisted. They seemed happy to take our $500 order and were incredibly sweet and gracious. It may have been a mistake, an accident, the way we were treated AND ignored in Kneaders, but I don't think so. Regardless, we will never return and will let all friends and family know of...
Read moreI was sent here by postmates to pick up a delivery, I went to the front counter a told the cashier the name of the order I was picking up. The drive-up was busy and I was told it would be a few minutes until the order was ready as there was only one cook. I took a seat right by the front door and waited to be called. There was one other couple waiting in the lobby before me, from the time I was there it took them at least 15 minutes to get their food. A sudden rush of about 5 or 6 people came into the lobby, and I continued to wait as their orders were taken and they received their food and left. By the time the lobby had cleared, I've been waiting for I'd say 25-30 minutes. As the girl I initially made contact with gave the last person in the lobby their food, she made eye contact with me but did not give any indication that my order was ready and went off to do another task. After that I went back up to the counter where another girl asked me if I was there for pickup. I said yes and gave her the name, and she went right to the register, grabbed my order, and handed it to me. I'm not sure if the first girl I spoke to is new and she forgot about me by accident, but for all I know my order could have been sitting there for the last 10-15 minutes for no reason. That is time that I could have used getting more orders. There was no apology given for my wait by anyone, which is not required but would have at least been appreciated. I understand things happen, and maybe I just caught them at a bad time, but as far as this experience goes I found the service poor. I have not tried the food here but it looks good, though you definitely need more than one cook on shift with as...
Read moreKneaders has a very homey feel as soon as you walk in the door. The smell of fresh baked bread permeates the sinuses immediately. Oh so good. The decor during this visit had a grandma's house home for the holidays feel. With the maple wood cabinetry and Christmas tree and even stockings hanging from the fireplace, it just felt cozy inside.
Kneader's has a pretty simple menu that includes a handful of sanwiches, salads, and house made soups. I decided to go with the famous Club sandwich with roasted turkey (like thanksgiving style), ham, roast beef, LTO and Kneader's sauce. The sauce was an amazing combo of mayo, mustard and sour cream which was quite delicious. Served on country french bread which was definitely a highlight of the famous Club sandwich. The bread was so soft and fluffy on the inside while have a crunchy crust, one of the best breads I've had in a while.
I also tried the Artichoke Portobello Soup. With chunks of carrots and mushrooms through the rich and creamy chicken broth and artichoke base. The soup was pretty good. On the menu they also had Broccoli cheese, French Onion, and Chicken Noodle, I'm looking forward to trying these flavors as well.
I am disappointed I did not get to try the desserts. They are very tempting because you have to walk by the pastry case to get to the ordering counter. I asked to many questions today and completely spaced my dessert order. Oh well next time. Which might be later this evening. Hahaha. They looked that...
