Today I went to Olga’s on 12 mile in Lathrop Village. I’m always in a great mood when I go there. Sometimes I’ll do curbside service or maybe I’ll dine in but today I had carryout . So I decided to just go in for carry out and went up to the register. No one else was there. I saw a lady she was waiting on customers that were dining in and she called someone to come to the front for carry out. A disheveled young man came out and he took my order and he was very nice and I paid for my order. I also asked for cayenne pepper and garlic on the side which he said no problem. He went in the back for maybe 15 minutes I didn’t realize it and maybe that’s just my fault because probably everybody else knows but he was working the register handling money, touching everything up front of the store and then he goes in the back to make sandwiches. He made the sandwiches I called the manager, because I realized that he made the sandwiches. I notice how disheveled he was and he was the only person up front besides the manager. I knew when I looked at my sandwich. It was a mess that he was the person who made the sandwich. But I wanted to be sure so I called the manager And she told me that he did and that everybody has to Wash their hands before making a sandwich when they go in the back and I asked, did you see him wash his hand and she never really answered but it was just so disgusting. It made my stomach just sick knowing that this guy that looked disheveled and was a mess upfront was back there making my sandwiches While I waited. Normally, they wrap the sandwiches in like a structured foil that helps hold it together. It had paper that would not hold. The manager told me they were out of foil. I said if you were doing something different, you should always ask the customer because they’re paying I just paid $22.00 dollars. If you were out of something, you should let the customer know. I ordered the original Olga and a veggie Olga. The veggie had kale added raw not cooked straight out the bag. Normally the veggies are cooked so it was very disappointing. If I knew maybe that they were out of something I could decide if I wanted something else or if I didn’t want anything at all. I didn’t get the chance to decide. The manager refunded my money, she apologized and stated, she would talk to the staff, but I just think that she should’ve been on top of it before it went out. I was very disappointed in all the times I’ve eaten here. I’ve gotten carry out or curbside service a couple times, but I didn’t realize that the people that work in the front would be making it for me And only God knows if they washed their hands or not. I’m just really bummed about that. I mean, that should be a practice, but everybody’s not like that. And I really like eating Olga’s. It was one of my favorite places to go so now I don’t know how to handle it. I don’t know if I’ll go...
Read more2/27 about 2p I walked in an ordered a simple carryout: Spinach pie and chili. I asked clerk if butter came with snackers, he said yes. Somone had set a bag on the side counter. After about 20 minutes I asked a waitress to go and send someone up front. A young woman comes out checks the bag, it was my order. It was cold, but I accepted it and left. When I got to the car, I checked my bag: no almond butter. I take my bag of cold food back inside. A male msnager comes from back, fingers through my bag, and gruffly says to me butter doesnt come with that order. I told him I asked the clerk when I ordered. He responded: I will give it to you this time. 1) I didnt appreciate him fingering through my bag with unclean hands 2) I didnt appreciate his disrespectful antagonistic tone, 3) his I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU THIS TIME remark implied he was doing me a favor by giving me a souffle cup of almond butter that I would have paid for. Instead I asked for a refund. He sent a black female with light colored hair. She stood at the cash register knowing full well why the manager sent her. She stared at me. Waiting for me to speak. I asked for my refund ending it with please and thank you. She gave a snarky response indicating she was waiting for me to say please and thank you for my refund. Recap Im in store over 30 minutes for pie and soup. I recieved cold foid, had missing item, when I reported it, I was disrespected and antagonized by the staff. Corporate needs to pull the video from 2/26 from 2:15 to 3pm and see how your staff conducts themselves with patrons. There were 4 other women waiting after my order was placed, and several others afterwards. I never got my refund as I was so insulted by the treatment of those 2 staff, I through the bag on the floor and walked out. Get your...
Read moreUpdate 2021 4 minute hold time to place a to go order at 2:00 in the afternoon (a slow time). Hung up and called somewhere else. It's obvious this location does not want to improve. There is no need to "discuss this further" or any incident. This is a detailed account of the problem. There's nothing to incentivise a return to receive poor service again. Done.
2019 This review is for a slow Friday late afternoon lunch for 2 people. Summary: choose elsewhere.
PROS: +Variety of menu +Convenient location +Price
CONS: -Waited about 8-10 minutes before being greeted and seated by hostess (mgr was ringing a takeout order but did not acknowledge us). Only 4 other tables in dining room had patrons and we were the only people waiting. -Unattentive. Server visited table twice (took order and brought food) did not visit table to check our meal, refill drinks, or clear the stacks of dirty dishes. -Long unjustified wait for food. About 25 minutes to receive soup and appetizer. No apology for length of time waiting for soup (only 3 other tables occupied by now). -Quality of food. Gyro bread got hard as though it was microwaved yet this bread is what the chain is famous for. -Friendliness. Manager was actually glaring at the customer trying to explain what they wanted for take-out. Server never smiled, no chit chat, never asked how meal was. Generally felt unwelcome due to lack of positive interaction. -No one around to cash us out or any employees visible in dining room (viewed 5 employees yet none present).
This is the last time we will make the mistake of choosing this restaurant location. There are a plethora of other restaurants in the area to choose from (including another Greek restaurant across the street). There is no need to settle...
