Donna's Caribbean Restaurant — Restaurant in Lauderhill

So.. let me begin by saying that I eat at this location all the time but it has always been take out items. Up until this point I was satisfied with Donna's. I find that Donna's locations have better service than their competitor the Dutch Pot.

However, i have to say this past Sunday i was beyond disappointed when my boyfriend and I decided to try the Sunday brunch buffet for the first time. When we got there, everything was picked over. We arrived at like 1:50 the buffet is supposed to end at around 3. They clearly stopped replenishing the food a while before we got there, the orange juice was very tarty and old, the other drinks almost gone, the mac and cheese and other food items were slightly lukewarm or cold, lastly, they did not have all of the food that was advertised as included.... no snapper, no oxtails, nothing. So essentially we paid $25pp for some chicken livers and kidneys, boiled banana, fried chicken and some grapes for dessert O_O... WE WERE VERY UPSET..... we could have gone anywhere else and been full for a little more or a little less than $25. For $5 more dollars we could have gone to a seafood brunch or for the same price and would have gotten shellfish (including crab legs), and an array of food, desserts and appetizers. I think the aerosquadron, and some local hotels have a brunch for $25 to $40 pp with triple the selection of FRESH/HOT food. After we tried to eat this mess, we ended up leaving there and went to get coffee and food at Dunkin Doughnuts because even after spending all that money we were hungry.

The only reason why i didn't complain like i wanted was because the ladies at this Donna's were nice and either way.. we did sit and eat. I do not recommend this buffet to anyone. It is very expensive for the quality and selection of food offered. You will leave feeling very cheated like we did. Never...

UPDATE AS OF 12/13 not much has changed as far as the quality of their food improving. rice always taste like bottom of the pot. saw a dirty dining and will never eat here again. rodents!? absolutely NOT. i had always looked past the interior of the place bc i understand not everywhere is going to be updated but i cannot and will not look past the dirty dining or the food lacking flavor and consistency. went to peppa seed down the block and not a single complaint there! Donna’s get it together almost all of them have a dirty dining review except for Oakland location. downhill and overpriced!!

food has def been slacking lately and a hit or miss. service is SLOWWWWWW!! no urgency to get the line down ever. forget the attitude i just expect it lol. they NEVER have what’s on the menu. especially the barbi fry. u literally wait 30mins to get to the front of the line to hear they don’t have anything. how do u have a whole menu of stuff but never have it?? prices increased as well but they need to start caring about how the food tastes!! this one is the best of all the locations too. another odd thing each location has different “rules” this location will give u 1 piece of mac n cheese and charge u for a side where all the others u get 2 pieces! get it...

Absolutely terrible service!! I went in yesterday just to pick up an order for UberEats and the workers there were extremely rude, inappropriate, and highly unprofessional as I was trying to get my order. The lady who attended me purposely acted oblivious to acknowledge me and took so long to serve me as the order was literally sitting behind them in which for no reason had me wait an extra 20 minutes just to hand me off the order. It’s too bad because it was my first impression of Donna’s and I had thought the food looked and smelled good and that maybe I would come in for food some time but now I will definitely NOT be coming to this specific location.. hopefully the other Donna’s actually treat their customers like human beings with respect and that actually moves with a purpose. I was losing brain cells speaking to some of these workers as I just trying to get my order anyways.. as you can see, I highly don’t recommend coming here. Such nasty attitudes and rude people.. in the military, they would have you on your face if you dared trying to do...
