Man what a horrible experience today. After I ate I noticed that I was charged 4.27 for samosas when the menus the menu display and the plastic menu was 2.99. I went to inquire about the price, and she then pulled out a separate menu saying the price had changed. I of course was confused that I didn’t look at the menus because his wife didn’t tell me there was a new menu or that the prices had changed, I looked at the two menus available. She became very intense and belligerent all of a sudden and I was kind of shocked. She said she was not the owner, that she just works there, and that she couldn’t do anything about it and said she could give me back the dollar but she didn’t know how to. I was confused and I said, I thought you were Arun’s wife. I guess she didn’t like the question and started repeating and staring at the register that she couldn’t do anything. So I asked if the manager was there, she scoffed and threw her hand up in the air said she didn’t know where he was. I asked if I could wait and she said yes.
My friend then heard and noticed that Arun’s wife wasn’t going to check for the manager, so my friend went to the back to ask Arun’s daughter if the manager was available. His daughter then started telling him that they couldn’t do anything about the prices because they just worked there. Then his son all of a sudden came to the front where I was and spoke to me very condescendingly and tried to berate me about “fighting for a dollar”. I tried to talk to him as I hadn’t done so and tried to explain I wasn’t fighting, and that his mom just told me that I could wait I for the manager because she didn’t know how to help me. And he just kept shutting me up and telling me that he was talking. I was like, I haven’t even spoken to you yet I just want to clarify. But he wasn’t hearing it.
Anyway, he ended up saying to just write an email if I wanted to complain, which I wasn’t doing. I was just waiting for the refund his mother said she would give.
I’m just in shock, Arun is awesome and has always been super nice. I have followed him since he was at Bombay Cafe, then opened AIK in Coral Springs. I live in Pembroke Pines and would drive to Coral Springs because his food reminded me of home (I’m half South Asian). I couldn’t believe how rude they were because I had a question about a price discrepancy and I was offered a refund unsolicited. I’m sorry to say I won’t go back there, no customer deserves to be treated like that. I feel bad for the workers who aren’t family because while I was waiting, one of them started talking to me about how crazy she can be sometimes, which hasn’t been my experience in the past 8 years eating at Arun’s. Maybe they were having a bad day or something but man, never had such a bad...
Read moreMy only in favorite Indian place they have a variety of foods to eat in there. I usually get the same thing when I go, which is the Chana Aloo. In the garlic naan bread oh and the mango lassi vegan is the best. In the lentil soup they have the different variety of of spice so don’t be alarmed because it’s Indian. You know they use a lot of spicy stuff but this restaurant caters to your needs. It’s clean you can eat in if you like or you can take out I eaten in there before and it was lovely, but I usually take my stuff to go. The service is fast. The customer service is impeccable and they will explain the different things. The food usually comes with a small rice, which is just enough food to go with your stuff if you want the garlic naan it’s extra, but I think if you do like a lunch special stuff none comes with it, but the garlic naan will be extra, but it’s so well worth it the owner is awesome. He’s usually always in there helping the crew. That’s something that I love about restaurants. They don’t sit back and kick back here. They help each other out and everybody’s friendly. This is my go to at least once or twice a month. I haven’t been back in a while since they’re closed on Mondays because that was my day to go but any other day is awesome and they open late they also do delivery. That’s actually how I found out about them. I was doing Ubereats one day and the Ubereats order took me from this location all the way to Pembroke Pines I said man this must be good and was I right? I love this restaurant. There’s another location in Coral Springs as well and they’re just as great. The food is authentic and the recipe does not change. It’s very consistent thank you to the owner who created this restaurant and the wonderful staff you have the lovely part about this as you can see everybody cooking and also they make the naan right in front of you and when you ask for a simple request, they are also granted I also wanted to mention that everything is authentically cook. It’s not commercialized and all the food is seasoned very well. It’s not salty. It’s just right and you can get a lot of healthy options. And they do not...
Read moreYou know that feeling you get when you find something amazing. That feeling you get deep down in your stomach when you make a right decision. That calm that falls on you and baths you from head to toe and reminds you that everything, and I mean absolutely everything, will be ok. Well, that’s the feeling I got the moment I took my first bite of my Chicken Tikka Masala from AIK Taco Masala by Arun. There were several reasons for that sense of calm.
First, they are conveniently located close to home, or where home is for the moment. I could literally stop by everyday and enjoy their amazing food. And the fact that this seems to be either their second location or one of several means that quite possibly they’ll soon also be near you. The second reason is the fact that they streamed line service when it comes to Indian food, which is quite a rarity. Using the Chipotle/Subway model, you just walk in, pick one of several choices, or two, or like a lady in front of mean, 16 tacos, then you move down the assembly line where you instruct how your food is put together. I love the customization of food.
But the main reason is really the quality of the food and the flavors. If you love Indian food, the spices, the smell, the taste, then this is the place for you. It is a place to indulge your palate in some, quite few actually, plates that represent that complex and extensive cuisine.
So if you find yourself looking for a place to eat, look no farther - give AIK Taco Masala a shot. The way they’ve adopted the best principles of fast food and applied them to real, cultural plates, is nothing short of incredible. It’ll blow you away. TrudI’ll continue visiting them over and over again. Their food is...
