Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant — Restaurant in Lauderhill

I visited the Lauderhill location of Golden Krust for the first time yesterday. I got to the plaza and parking is just very hard to find in front of the restaurant. So I parked closer to the Boston Market that is there and walked over. I stood in line and noticed the woman in front of me with the corded earbud kept asking the lady behind the counter about things and how much they cost. And then I realized: there are no prices. No menus. So the lady in front of me took a while and some inpatient woman behind me left. I got up to the counter, ordered my two mild Jamaican beef patties and two orders of coco bread and I paid and left. The woman who was in front of me was still there figuring out her order. So I realized that the long wait for food there is not the wonderful ladies behind the counter - it's the customers. But my experience was a good one, and my husband got to try a Jamaican beef patty for the first time in his life. And...

I have my favorites here. Mostly the patties & soups. The Spicy beef patty is always delicious. In my opinion, the edges tend to be a little thick, therefore, it takes some bites to get to the filling & then at times it seems there's not much inside. My BF likes the spicy with coco bread. The veggie & spinach are pretty darn good too. The spinach, sometimes they're heavy on the cinnamon. Big letdown when that happens. The red pea soup with beef on Fridays is so good. I've had it a few times now and it never disappoints. I was told about goat(head) soup on Saturdays. Not super authentic the time I tried, but it was good.
