Meh. I mean, it was edible. I ordered the chicken fried chicken dinner and for something that is supposed to be a hot meal, it wasn't. The food was barely warm, yet the mashed potatoes tasted like the milk used to make them was burned, plus the breading on the chicken was too salty. My husband was even surprised that I said that because I am one to love my sodium. 🧂 The only saving grace was that the waitress was super nice.😊 Granted, she was in the back on the phone trying to take an order when we got there so we had to wait for her to come out to even know we were there. But she did apologize profusely and was very helpful with my husband's questions and even "created" a special meal for him based on his dietary needs. Plus, she was the only waitress on duty considering it was around 1 am. Denny's used to have a much better menu, but it just seems like everything has changed lately and not for the better. My husband said that they probably have a limited menu late at night but I've been to multiple Denny's across the states and they've always had a full service menu 24/7, so I don't think that's it. This custom of serving lukewarm food is not an isolated case though, however you would think that the chicken fried chicken would be scorching hot but I'm thinking that it was from frozen to microwave because everything came out rather fast and it was just barely warm enough to eat. We also discovered that there are two 24hr. virtual/on-line pop-up restaurants at this Denny's location. Which I suppose is fine as long as it doesn't interfere with the regular service of people who opt to dine in. All in all, the subpar food did satisfy my hunger that with the super nice, helpful waitress I give this...
Read moreWe arrived approximately 12:45pm. There was no waiting line. The hostess/cashier greeted us (party of two) and seated immediately. The hostess/cashier gave us menus, napkins and silverware. The silverware was in a paper bag, for sanitation reasons.
We waited 8 minutes before a server greeted us saying, "I will be right with you". He then took the order of the table next table who had arrived before us.
Three minutes later he arrived at our table and proceeded to take our order. I noticed that he wasn't writing it down. Because of that, we had to repeat the order twice, because he forgot parts of it. He immediately brought our drinks.
While waiting for our food to arrive, I observed that our server was the only one on the floor, handling all of the tables. It was clear that he was overwhelmed by the amount of tables he had to handle.
I also did not see any manager on the floor during our stay.
Our food arrived in a timely fashion. It was fresh and hot. When the server dropped the food, he said he would be back to check on us. He never did. The next time he came back to the table was we were finished with our meal to us the guest check.
The person I was with ordered their eggs sunny side up. The eggs were over cooked, with a brown crust around the outside of the eggs. I ordered my eggs over medium. They were also over cooked with the yokes cooked all the way through. My order came with 2 pancakes. The top pancake was fine, but the bottom one was over cooked and partially black.
All the rest of the food was as expected.
The cashier was efficient and friendly. I asked why they only one server on the floor. She said they were...
Read moreStopped in before some gambling for a meaty burger. Typically I can count on Denny's. Host sat us immediately, no blast of a/c like usual but nice and cool in restaurant. (It was 101 degrees the day of our visit) Took our server (sami?) a little while to get to us tho it wasn't busy. Ordered a double cheeseburger add bacon. ($1.50 on menu to add bacon) asked for a side of Ranch to go with my fries, which I've done for decades. She informs me it's 99 cents for Ranch. What?! New company policy, but not on the menu. Ok, whatever, I want it.
After 17 minutes go by for us, the only other table in the restaurant, next to us, starts asking where their food was. Not sounding good. We asked for more water since server never offered other beverages. She brought us warm water, no ice! It's 100* outside, no we'd like cold water please. (Insert server eyeroll here)
Food arrived in 25 minutes time for us (2 burgers). Manager dropped it off. Burger was fine, came with bacon on it and set up on it. My 99 cent Ranch dressing side was a half full 2oz sauce cup. (I'm a restaurant person, I know) a dollar an ounce? Gasoline is cheaper!
We finish, have to ask for the check because server never came to check on us. (Now us and one other table in restaurant)
I see she did not forget to charge for Ranch, fine. But she charged me for diced bacon, a full dollar more than the 2 slices listed on the menu. If you want to raise your check average, sell drinks. We'd have ordered 2 soft drinks if she just asked...adding 8 more dollars to our check....but she didn't.
We did speak to Mgr while leaving, let her know we won't be returning. Sad Denny's, you...
