Hookah House — Restaurant in Lawrence

The first few times I visited here was over a year ago and they were wonderful experiences with helpful, fun staff and atmosphere. Last night my husband and I went for a date and we couldn't even stay to finish the first bowl. The sign out front of the door with the specials on it said it was Date Night and we couldn't get the one employee we saw to explain and we stood there while he just stared at us saying nothing. Literally. Finally I said we want to smoke hookah? He kept playing nothing but rap loudly on YouTube on the TVs and I got a headache, it was not the relaxed, chill, atmosphere they had before. The hummus and pita was good, the orange swirl we smoked was a good flavor. When the one person working came by finally to tap the ashes and asked if we wanted new coals, we said yes. Then we watched him chatting away with another group of people just general talking, not ordering or anything, so by the time he actually came back with the new coals, we were ready to leave. I always loved coming here with the previous staff. But tonight was very different when we checked out and left. One of the employees I won't name, accused the group of friends I went with of stealing and threatened to call the cops on us for not paying the bill and sent me the message via fb messenger. I then sent a picture of the receipt to the employee. After that I went straight back to this establishment and showed my receipt saying that they apologize and it was their fault and not ours. Well for one you don't ever accuse someone especially through fb messenger and threatening to call the cops especially when it was the staffs miscommunication and mess up. And to think we even tipped, if I could have I would've taken the tip back. I will never come back here and wouldn't advise any of my other peers or college students to come here. Sad to know they lost good customers and will continue to do so with the way...

Worst hookah bar experience of my life. I walk in and I'm told I can sit anywhere. Cool environment, not a good home-like welcome. No one came to ask us what we wanted so I had to get up and request it. No deals or any suggestions were given my way and was just a sort of confusing experience. When the coals were brought out, they weren't even done cooking, half black and very harsh. As the coals begin to deminish, I expect someone to change out the coals without being asked but I got up and requested a second round of coals. Once again these coals were not even close to done. Almost completely black and I had to blow on them to cook them. At this point I got tired of listening to bad music, sitting on a ridiculously hard couch, and having terrible service.
