Jason's Deli — Restaurant in Lawrence

I know that there have many adjustments with COViD19, but filling out a paper for the salad bar without the ability to choose how much of each item you want is a little crazy, considering I can fix my own drink AND even my own ice cream bowl or cone. I don't normally load up my salad bowl and the people making the bowls for the customers gave twice as much as I would've made myself and from the comments of other patrons, much more than they would've made for themselves as well. That is a lot of food wasted when customers are not wanting a tremendous amount of salad. Maybe they could have the customer walk with the server making the salad to tell them what and how much they want of each item. At least it'll still give the customer a sense of more control without the excessive touching of surfaces, even though the customers are required to wear masks or facial coverings any time they are not sitting at their table. Or how about having hand sanitizer by the salad bar and require anyone getting anything from the salad bar to sanitize their hands before getting near it. Placed a large takeout order, which was ready and waiting for me at the scheduled time. On my way home, the restaurant called asking if my order was correct, because another customer had called to notify that they had extra items in their takeout order, and the staff was concerned that I had not received all of my items. After pulling over to confirm the contents they asked if I could return to retrieve the items I was in fact missing. They offered gift cards as consolation for the inconvenience, but I was just so thankful that they took the time to correct the error(which happen) and made sure my family was fed. I come here on a regular basis for business lunches and recently I'd have to say this restaurant has gone from good to excellent since the new store manager Kristen has taken over. I've received friendly, personal service from her and the rest of the staff there. My orders are always prepared quickly and accurately and many times the staff remembers my special requests without me having to ask. Quality of the sandwiches and wraps I've had is excellent and the salad bar has a huge selection and looks fresh and clean. Where else can you get free ice cream with your meal?- Here you can!
