After eating at Applebee's numerous times, I’ve come to realize that things may not be so perfect at the restaurant... Sure, the restaurant not entirely known for entirely bad reasons, but that doesn’t mean the restaurant is at its best at every location. The Applebee’s that I went to was not only disappointing, the place was extremely frustrating to even be present in. Everything that occurred in that restaurant left my family and I extremely unsatisfied and upset.
First off, the cleanliness of the restaurant isn’t always at its best. On the outside you would think you’d be in for a fantastic time at a great restaurant, but in the inside it’d always be chaotic. A few times my family and I have been, there are always more unclean tables than clean ones. It took us a while for the lady at the front desk to have a table ready for us which was sort of frustrating since there were several unseated tables. When we finally got our table and sat down the tables weren’t even entirely clean; the tables had clearly visible stains left over from the previous people who sat at the table. Some parts of the floor were also sort of sticky when we walked in; this made me wonder if the people who worked there even knew how to clean to place properly. Already being annoyed by how things are looking in the restaurant so far, I didn’t think things couldn’t get any worse.
The service in the restaurant was some of the most annoying time spent in a restaurant ever. The waiter we got was not only bad with his services, he also was very clumsy. When he was taking all our orders, he quite literally forgot to take my little brothers’ order; my parents had to call him back over just to get him to take his order, the frustration continues to build up. After he finished taking our orders, he never came back to ask us for refills or anything. I waited nearly half an entire hour just for the waiter to return to our table and ask us if we wanted any refills; I tried my absolute best to be as respectful to him as possible. Almost an hour later, our food finally starts arriving to our tables, and this is where things start to really go downhill. The waiter clumsily drops marinara sauce on my brother’s shirt, he was extremely upset. My parents were obviously upset at the situation, but they let it slide this time since it seemed like the waiter was just simply having a bad day.
Now this is the part that left us feeling extremely distasteful of the place; some of our food was somewhat cold and a little under-cooked. We didn’t complain about the food as much because it was still very edible, but it was still extremely disappointing how things ended up turning out this day. Not to mention that my mom’s potato salad didn’t even look as accurate to the picture on the menu than she expected; the potato salad looked very unprofessionally done. On the other hand, the burger I ordered was at least accurate to picture and tasted well. After we all finished eating, my parents talked about how upset they were that they even decided to show up to this place saying they’d “never come here again.” We were going to get ready to leave and pay our bill right after my little brother got a refill for his cup; it ended up taking 7 entire minutes for the waiter to even come back with more soda which shouldn’t even take that long just for one drink. Just before we thought things couldn’t get any worse, the waiter returns and accidentally spills some soda on my brother. It’s the second time he dropped something on him, and my parents weren’t too nice about it. We paid our bill and walked right off; my parents didn’t even bother to leave a tip.
In conclusion, we learned that restaurants may have good reputations and good reviews online, but that doesn’t always mean every single one of those restaurants are always going to be a good experience. The waiter we got was one of the worst waiters we’ve ever had. We all agreed to never visit the Applebee’s in Lawrenceville ever again, but instead start experimenting and trying out other places...
Read moreApplebee's was actually started in Decatur, Georgia. The simple fact that the franchise was started in Georgia gave me high hopes that this would be an outstanding restaurant. Sadly, I was disappointed to find out that my first experience at Applebee's would be bad. To start off, I could not find any parking around the building so I ended up parking in one of the vacant handicap parking spots. At the time, I was unaware of how expensive handicap parking tickets were. I was negligent to the fact that handicap parking fines can be as much as five-hundred dollars, however, I was well aware that I would be receiving some sort of fine later that night. The most I was expecting to pay was about seventy-five dollars. After I parked my car, the people I brought and I walked in the restaurant. Applebee’s was unquestionably busy. The host did not greet us until about forty-five minutes upon our arrival. Once we are finally greeted and seated I become uncomfortable. My discomfort was due to the fact that the host gave us such a small table. I had seven people in my group, and we were all tightly packaged in to a tiny booth like hotdogs. I already knew this was going to be a problem, so I kindly asked our waiter if he could move us to another table. Unfortunately, he was unable to move us, and we were stuck. Since we had no choice but to stay at the cramped table, we took a look at the menus. The menus we received were sticky and felt utterly disgusting. It was difficult to figure out what I wanted to eat because the menus were contaminated with germs. Eventually, I found something to eat. I decided to get the “Double Crunch Shrimp.” It sounded like a good item to order…keyword sounded. Once we all figured out what to eat, my party of seven was trying extremely hard to get the waiter’s attention. We were ready to order. It took twenty-five minutes until someone finally took our order. Some of the party had ordered appetizers, but the appetizers came out after the main courses. Which baffled me. As soon as all of the food arrived to the table, everybody started chowing down on their food because of how long of a wait it was. The first bite I took out of my dish, was soggy and bland. It tasted like it came out of the freezer and was left to be thawed out. My food was basically raw. I asked one of the waiters that passed by our table to take it back and get a new one because I was dissatisfied with it. When the waiter came back with a new basket, all I saw was steam. I knew that it was fresh and straight out of the fryer. I was grateful that the waiter was able to fulfill the task, however, I took a bite out of the fresh meal, and It still had that dull taste. At the end of the night, I typically go to the restroom to wash my hands and check if I have anything in my teeth before I leave. The restrooms had dark lighting, so it was challenging to locate everything in the bathroom. I noticed that the washroom was obviously not cleaned and there was a distinct smell of feces. The smell was so foul that I immediately left the restroom. I was ultimately disappointed with my first visit to Applebee’s, and I would not recommend this particular location to anyone because of how displeased I was with my...
Read moreI don’t usually write bad reviews but what happened in this place last night was simply awful. Since the moment we arrived, we had to wait a very long time to be seated, and finally when a guy talked to us his response was: “Give me one second I’ll be right back”. Next thing he did was stand next to one of the servers doing nothing. Then, we talked to one of the servers asking her if we could be seated in two boots because we were a group of 8 and we were already tired of waiting to get a table. When we finally got seated, we had to wait 20 minutes to get menus ( i wanna clarify we never got silverware or any kind of utensils). Then we waited 40 MINUTES to have someone taking our drink orders (By the way, same guy who never seated us and made us wait wrote our drinks order down ON HIS PHONE,like what kind of professionalism is that????). A server then came by to us and tried her best to mend the bad experience, but we were already very pissed. She had to take our drink orders again (IDK Why) and we order our food as we were tired of waiting. Afterwards drinks took a very long time to come, and same with the food which arrived at our table at very different times that we ended up asking to have some of the food items to-go and almost asking to cancel them . My girlfriend and I ordered each a whiskey bacon burger but the flavor was very horrible, and our meat came out really raw, which unfortunately I didn’t realize after almost finished it (As shown in the picture). I ordered a Piña Colada, worst I have ever tried. My girlfriend and her brother ordered a oreo shake but it was very meh. And to make our experience worse, we had to witnessed how everybody but us was being served, even people who arrives after us. I am writing this review because I also work at a restaurant and I know how stressful it could be when the place is full, but the staff looked very chill about the situation and didn’t really care we were having such an...
