I've been wanting to try Big Dave's since the grand opening and today I was finally able to. It was a terrible experience and will not be coming back.
The food was good but service is beyond bad and so is the cleanness. I arrived right after it opened, bathroom was dirty with old pee on the seat (it had not been cleaned prior to open). I paid $40 on a 6" plus a 10" combo. I was not told of any promotion nor anything. The register girl did not know how to ring my food and had to ask for help. I was already eating when I realized I was overcharged I went to the counter to ask the staff. I was rudely attended and the lady kept rolling her eyes at me the entire time. When I was done asking her why instead of combo prices I paid for each item (Philly, soda and fries) she said that today was buy one get one free and she could not honor the combo prices from the menu. I asked her where was this stated and she said it was an app promotion. I told her I didn't use the app, therefore I wanted to pay the price advertised on the sign that was hanging right above her head. She kept rolling her eyes and said it wasn't her fault the register person didn't make me aware of that and there was nothing she could do.
This is bad and against consumer rights. I'm not a Bug Dave's app user. If I knew of the promotion I would've gotten two 6" combos at $12 all instead of $40 bucks for a 6" and a 10" combo which were not charged as a combo at all, I paid for every singles item. The way this location is run is a shame. Again, the food was good but I do appreciate great service to be able to go back to...
Read moreFound this place by accident today and decided to go for dinner. It was close to closing, but nobody treated you like they were in a hurry. KT took our order and was nice enough to explain why they did our sandwiches the way they did to make sure we understood. They were very clearly labeled, but for her to take the time was impressive. You can’t say anything negative about the people prepping or anything because it was wonderful in every aspect. We ordered 3 10 inch sandwiches, but given it was so late, they ran out of 10 inch rolls. KT explained that they gave us 2 6 inch rolls for each for my husband and my sandwiches and my son - because he ordered the double Dave (it has double the meat) so he got 3 6 inch rolls! I’m not complaining at all because I don’t eat much at a sitting, so it was very convenient to have smaller separate sandwiches. I am from the Philadelphia area, so I tend to be a big critic on cheesesteaks and there is nothing here to criticize. They use Amoroso rolls, which are a staple, the meat is finally chopped ribeye (critical), and you can get cheese whiz, which for me is the way it should be even though I don’t use it for anything else. This is the only picture I took so far because I was so excited to eat. This is my son’s double Dave; this is only a third of what one sandwich is normally because it’s on a 6 inch roll. I will try to remember to take pictures before heating up my other half. This will definitely be our new cheesesteak place even though it’s a good 35 to 40 minute drive… Worth every...
Read morePrice & Service: 1st time at this location. I ordered salmon combo (which is overpriced in my opinion as it is). It’s just salmon (taste like CANNED or PREPACKAGED SALMON at that) & cheese. It was just ok. No asian seasoning or flare in the roll, you do get dipping sauce. Service Opportunity: Salmon Combo price was $16.99 per menu board. It rang up $17.99 plus tax. I attempted to explain this to the young lady who was ringing me up and she became a bit combative citing “I can’t control or help the tax, that’s the amount with tax” I explained, “No, the tax is $1.08; however, the amount you’re taxing me on is $17.99 instead of the menu price of $16.99. So the tax is added to $17.99 not $16.99” She snapped, “I can’t control or help….” I tuned her out and waited until she finished and asked her to get someone to help us. She turned her back, stormed off and shared what was happening. I wanted to walk out but I made a special trip & decided to stay. Another young lady came over, she was pleasant and I explained the same to her. She asked “what would you like me to do?” I said “Honor the price on the menu and charge me $16.99”, she did just that. Thank you. A simple “let me get someone to help” from the first young lady versus the snapping would have gone a very long way. I’m appreciative of the correction, but I won’t ever return to that location. Also, I personally don’t think the 2 egg rolls and fries with a drink...
