Manager/Owner repied to my experience. He offered a discount on my next visit but his response is what I needed, so I graciously declined his generous offer. He said he talked to the staff and I know this must have just been a bad day because their food has always been superb. I also understand staffing issues, especially in the service area. So thank you very much El Tora, for your response and attention to my experience...that alone deserves five stars.
Bad day at El Toro. Ordered margarita and bartender/waitress brought it without a dressed rim. I asked if I could get it poured into another glass with a dressed rim. Bartender/waitress grabbed it, slammed one of the bar doors and even complained to a patron setting at the bar about my request. Needless to say, it went downhill from there. I even tried to apologize for my request and she walked away in mid sentence, two times. The food came out cold and every response from her was short, cold, and flipant. I'd rather have no service at all than...
Read moreThe wife and I aren't around from here and wanted to get a bite. We were in the mood for some Hispanic food and saw that this had 4.4 stars and the food in the pictures looked good. So we decided to go. At first, it was promising. Once we got the chips and salsa, we started to get a little disappointed. The chips were good, but they needed a little salt. The salsa was like the leftover juices from tomato and bland, but we were appalled once we got our appetizer. The fries were soggy, and the steak was bland. We laughed about it and moved on. Once we got our meal it looked really good. WRONG. It's literally the same thing. We had to cover the meal with salt and pepper just to give it flavor. The only thing we found decent were the chips in the beginning. We were traveling around all day and hungry as could be. So we just decided to eat it and move on. The service was great, though. Always checking up on chips and water. The atmosphere was good. Nothing too crazy but it was relaxing. Hopefully, this...
Read moreEl Toro is hands down my favorite Mexican food restaurant in Lawton. The atmosphere is on point with the decorations and multiple rooms and lighting. Service is always great here. Most recently we had Michael, and his service was superb.
We’ve not been here for a few months. Since we were last here, they have greatly improved their queso sauce that they give along with their complimentary chips and salsa. The cheese sauce is thicker, much better than it was. They also include a guacamole sauce that’s pretty good.
All of the main dishes I’ve had here are delicious. I love the birria tacos, the charros beans, the fajitas, everything I’ve had.
I didn’t get margaritas this time because previously the margaritas have been a sickly sweet margarita mix and I prefer a straight up three ingredient margarita. I’ve even ordered three ingredient margaritas here and they are still the margarita mix drinks , but they just charge more. That’s my...
