Went in on a Saturday around 7. It wasn't too busy, all of the Hibachi tables had people seated at them. There were 4 people in my group, 2 of us ordered Sushi, 2 ordered Hibachi and we ordered 2 appetizers and everyone got a soda.
Fried Calamari appetizer came out as 6 sticks. I have never in my life seen sticks of Calamari. They looked like fried mozzarella sticks and tasted like bland chicken strips. They were definitely not worth the price we paid.
Spider 6 pc, otherwise known as fried soft shell crab. You have to get beyond the visual of the centers, which pardon my graphic description but, they had the same color and appearance of some diapers I have changed. They were cut in half, and tasted overwhelmingly of grease. There was genuinely nothing to them but diaper filling, breading and dirty oil.
Person 1 ordered Shrimp Hibachi - nothing tasted off, but a mild case of food poisoning was the side.
Person 2 ordered Bulgogi - it tasted bland. There was nothing to it flavor wise and spicy sauce was requested to give it some taste. We received a small bowl of sriracha.
Person 3 ordered an order of yellow tail sashimi. This was never actually brought out. Instead it had been placed on Person 4's plate with their order. This was quickly discovered without being brought to the staff's attention. This sashimi was warm bordering on heated up as far as temperature. The meal was followed by severe stomach pain and 12 hours begging for forgiveness for the mistake of eating it.
Person 4 ordered an order of Octopus sashimi & a rainbow roll. The rainbow roll wasn't bad. The Octopus was incredibly fishy and caused a gag reflex from the strength of that flavor. The night was spent with mild stomach pain.
Orders came with Miso & Clear soups. All around these were enjoyed.
Hibachi came with salad. The dressing is not the traditional ginger dressing. It tasted like a very sharp Thousand Island. It was ok at best.
Soda was very watered down, but refills were consistent. Hibachi chef wasn't that impressive, even to the children at the table.
Overall, I would say avoid this place. We spent $150 including tip to be sick most of a night. This end result at the very least could be achieved...
Read moreHostess looked confused when I said we made a reservation. Seated our large party at a hibachi table. Drinks were provided as well as one roll that one person ordered. No one else ordered yet or received food. 10 minutes or so go by and no one looks in our direction so we had to pull one of the workers attention from the football game on at the time so that we may place our order. There was confusion about the ordering process. We were not allowed to order a roll if we didn’t order something from the hibachi menu first. Someone who spoke broken english tried to explain why and it was difficult to understand. The order we placed was done quickly in a manner that we felt misunderstood and unimportant. After failed attempts to wave someone to our table we resorted to walking up to the bar to find someone to assist with the communication barrier and make sure the order placed was the right one. The food came and while we were eating, a worker stood next to our table listening into our personal conversations and occasionally adding his thoughts. Nice guy, unprofessional behavior. We asked him if we could order more sushi and he said he wasn’t a server. He did bring our server from the back who brought the sushi we ordered out but throughout the entire experience… and it was an experience... no one received a refill or was checked on. If you need help at your table be prepared to work for it. The bathrooms were clean looking but smelled like sewer. update food poisoning 2 days after lasting for about 48 hours. One of my friends is sick as well. Fever, chills,...
Read moreThe food is completely mediocre if not down right terrible. I had the steak yakisoba and eel roll and my husband had the steak fried rice. Steak yakisoba tasted like the instant ones you buy at Walmart. The little steak bits were the only redeeming part and the vegetables were okay but the rest was gross. For $15 I expect to be able to finish my food. Eel roll barely contained any eel if any at all. It tasted like I was just eating rice, seaweed and sauce. Husband's fried rice was decent at least.
Service was atrocious and gets worse everytime we go there. The waitress just dropped our plates in front of us instead of placing them down, never got our drinks refilled and had an overall attitude. Then we were waiting 15 to 20 minutes for the check... there were two other tables besides us and saw multiple employees just talking at the back empty tables. No reason to wait that long for a simple check. I don't expect to get my butt kissed but some general courtesy and attentiveness is literally the bare minimum. I have tried to give this place multiple chances but the place has gone so far downhill its pathetic. Hire competent waitstaff and serve better quality food. The commissary sushi should not be better than a self-proclaimed...
