Kahuna Joe's - Hawaiian Shave Ice — Restaurant in League City

I went to kahunas today (may 27th, 2023) because it is a hot saturday afternoon. when i got there with my friends and family, we did not know how large the sizes were. That is already a red flag, unknowingly my friend and i got the largest size, thinking it would be a normal large. i ordered a classic snow cone is the largest size with half grape half cherry, after about 15 minutes of waiting (5/7 snow cones were done) my friend and I were still waiting. I am called over and informed they put ice cream in my snow cone which i did not order, they asked if it was ok and i of course said i’d like mine with no ice cream. as i wait, my friends comes out and has so much ice it looks to be a whole ice bag worth. we aren’t super happy because we didn’t know it would be THAT big. as mine comes out it was placed in the cup sideways and as i set it down on their flimsy tables it flops over. as i am a little mad, which i had the right to be, i notice where the ice cream was placed, was pure white. i knew somthing was up and soon realized the top was completely cut off of the original cone, and placed on a new cone, not remade like it should have been. due to this ignorance my clothes, and skin is stained....

PRO’S: 1.) LEGIT. This is as close to north shore Hawaii as you get. 2.) MIX & MATCH. Try their menu or make your own shaved ice masterpiece. 3.) MENU. They have more than shaved ice for folks that are not quite up to the task of taking on the awesomeness. You can also get classic floats, affogatos, smoothies, and popsicles. They can even do a boozy shaved ice and frozen doggie treats!

CON’S 1.) WAIT TIME. I hate to say it, but expect at least a ten minute wait, and if you ordered more than two you might be waiting up to twenty minutes. 2.) WASPS. Their seating area is host to some of the most sugar high wasps you will ever have the displeasure to meet. If you come during the day expect these friends to want to visit your iced creation.

IN CLOSING, this is a must hit up spot for a deliciously unique treat this side of the big blue ocean. I recommend coming in the later evening when the bug life has settled down or if you have a car with a lot of napkins. Check them...

Yes we did ask if you had a recommendation for a child snow cone, really simple but you really just said here is the menu. Did not even offer a recommendation, I asked you again if there were any child’s things on menu and you said I don’t know what you want! I had just told you. It was our first time and looking forward to the visit, all I wanted was a little help.The menu is very large. You know a grape snow cone or cherry!
