I frequent several Whataburger's for delivery pickups. I have not had any negative experiences until visiting this location at or around 1:30am. The parking lot was blocked off with orange cones at every entrance with the exception of the drive thru lane, because a pressure washer worker was cleaning the entire parking lot. Hence why I was in the drive thru to begin with. I specify to the employee on the intercom that I had a Dash pickup and that the entrances were blocked so you can't access the parking lot. He said you have to come inside for the Dash orders. I said I understand that, but are you aware that the worker outside has your lot completely blocked at all entrances?
He continued to repeat... you have to come in for Dash orders. I drive over to the business next door park and walk back around to the other side to enter Whataburger. I then ask the first male employee if he was the rude, stern and unprofessional one that spoke to me in the drive thru? Of course he didn't answer me, but walked away making a smirk comment and laughing with the other male coworker.
The other male employee was just as rude and unprofessional as his coworker. He says, 'do you want the food' confirm it first and let me see your phone...I responded yes I confirmed, it's the only way I can get the directions to proceed to the dropoff.
I have been in customer service for 25 plus years in the multi-family housing industry so I know exactly how to treat people, how to listen, act and respond promptly to the needs of others in a friendly, warm and professional manner.
They should go back to "Basic 101 class for a refresher training to improve their approach and customer service.
The store manager, general manager and or owner should ensure that customers are able to access "your parking lot" at all times and not be inconvenienced to park at Chase Bank or the other business on the other side when you are open 24 hours. Logic and common courtesy says NOT to allow the pressure washing contractor to block ALL of your parking entrances for hours at the same time while he...
Read moreDowngraded from a 5 star review due to an awful experience last night. Waited literally 30 minutes in an approximately 12 car line (apparently I came at a busy time last night at 11:20 PM) for a fast food hamburger. My mistake for waiting, but who would have thought that a fast food restaurant is unable to process customers any faster.
Ordered a whataburger combo meal #1. By the time I made it to pay, I stared at my bag of food sitting on the counter getting colder for 3 minutes as the inept cashier struggled to ring up the transaction. She handed me my bag. No offers for Ketchup or napkins. I did get a straw with my drink, so someone paid attention to a few minutes of her training.
Went to the nearest parking space to eat my meal. My hamburger had been crushed like someone got angry at it and smashed it. The bun was flattened and fissured. The patty was cold and dry. The tomato, lettuce, and onion had been knocked off of the burger and was lying by itself in the wrapper, and some lettuce was actually in the paper bag. Fries were warm (not hot) and were mostly small pieces of fries - clearly someone scraped the bottom of the bin for me. Several fries were undercooked, and half of them folded up when trying to dip them in the ketchup.
Unfortunately, in a car line like that, you are a captive audience as there is no way to rectify the situation quickly like you could if you could walk up to the counter. Waiting another 30 minutes was out of the question, so I ate my cold smash burger and wilting fries. Won't waste my money there again. So much for whataburger's advertising.
Previous review from 3 months ago:
5 stars is as compared to other fast food places. Ordered the pico burger - came out hot, fresh, and tasty. Fries were great - hot and crisp and even better with Jalapeno ketchup. Ordered through the drive through. Order was delivered correctly and quickly. I was most impressed that they handled a long line of late night cars so rapidly.
Everything I look for in a fast food...
Read moreI hate doing this because I love Whataburger and this location is usually SO AMAZING but my experience today was just awful. I placed an online order and when I picked it up, I ignorantly took it home without checking it. So that's 100% on me. The fries were cold, limp...and just tasted like they were out for 4-5 hours and my burger was completely wrong. I went back and told them (and apologized like a weirdo because I always feel terrible when I have to tell someone they didn't do their job right). They gave me the new bag with a new burger and fries and I left. I checked that the burger was correct and it was STILL WRONG! But this time I ate it because whatever, but the fries? They were inedible. By inedible I mean they looked and tasted like they'd been thrown on the floor and kicked around. The first cold, old, batch was heavenly in comparison. I actually feel sick after eating. I'm not sure if whoever is working tonight has a personal vendetta against people who ask for their food to be correct but I'm just sad about this. I am sad because I love this location 99% of the time. The drive thru line was around the building - nearly into the street and I saw them dropping fresh fries into the deep fryer, there is no way this was by mistake. It was 100% intentional and I wish I knew why they think it's okay to punish people who very politely ask for a correction. I really hope this doesn't become a regular thing here. I did file a complaint so if the issue is corrected and I return with a good experience (which I usually have at this location), I'll...
