Don't know if anything can be done with this but here was my experience.
I came in to sell a few games, intending to go to my local Gamestop. However chores and whims of Family and Friends brought me closer to this store. Feeling I could kill two birds with one stone I went in here to sell my games. I had 3 to sell two sealed and one unsealed. One of the sealed games is for the switch a recent release of about 4 months ago that I knew I won't be playing. I came into the store expecting them to want to open and inspect the games. Yada Yada this ain't my first time selling video games.
I step up to the cashier and find the store manager behind the cash register. After inquiring if they are offering trade today I place my three games on the counter.
The manager takes the games looks at the switch game and says, " This is too new we can't take this game."
Confused I state that if it's about the game being wrapped he can open it up if needed.
He then responded, "You can open it up but you won't be able to sell it at this Gamestop, you would need to go to a different store."
I felt weired like their was a judgement or something I did to offend this manager, I was racking my brain for a logical reason for another store to be able to buy the game but this store refusing to buy it. I even looked at the game section to see if they had a influx of this game and found not a single copy. It was at this point that I logiced what was happening. You see at my home gamestop I have ran into sealed and unsealed situations before and most of the time they will ask if I want to risk the worth of the game for them to break the seal. The other reason people are suspect of sealed games is the risk of theft/counterfeit. It is at this point that I realized the manager assumed I had stolen the game in some way shape or form, the only other reason for him to refuse selling to me would be some other form of prejudice or slight that I may have unconsciously done.
I left this store more dejected and added this to the list of things that makes me wary of Gamestop. I that day was looking forward to seeing what I can get, I left the store feeling off because I had been judged unfairly.
My warning to all who go to this store be wary of the manager, they will judge you and make you feel unwelcome. The only reason it is a two star is that they have AC and in Texas that is a must.
Kicker, the game would only be valued at 3 dollars. This manager risked a customer of Gamestop for 3 dollars.
This store has been relegated to a long list of unsafe Gamestops that I will not be doing business with and I strongly caution any who intends to go to this one to...
Read moreBeen a customer and a pro member for GameStop for about 20 years and I had spent so much money on this company for a long time. Yesterday was the last straw for me and I am never again going to a company that scams their customers, I purchase an Xbox series x with two games and a 2 year warranty that I spent over $600 and just two days later my Xbox series x would turned off after an hour of play and every time I would press the power button it would turn back off. I returned it back to GameStop just to find out I was getting a pre owned Xbox series x instead of a new one which I spent so much money on, so what is the point of me buying a new console with a 2 year warranty if am going to get a pre owned which there isn’t no guarantee it’s going to work? The person that helped me knew I was very frustrated and i think he did a great job dealing with my frustrations and everything, but in the same time when someone is going to purchase A warranty from GameStop the employee needs to explain a bit better on how a warranty works before purchasing it. So all the customers out there that are thinking about buying a warranty for a new ps5 or a new Xbox series x please don’t because you are going to end up getting exchanged for a pre owned instead of a new console down that line if your new system brakes. GameStop scams their customers and I hope they go out of...
Read moreI am absolutely infuriated with the complete lack of professionalism and accountability at this store. I made an online purchase at 9 AM, fully expecting to pick up my items when the store opened. Not only was I charged for my order, but when I arrived an hour after opening, I was told that my order had been canceled. Why? Because someone walked in, bought all the stock, and Tevin, the associate, decided it was perfectly fine to sell my paid-for items to someone else.
This is beyond unacceptable. The money was already removed from my account, making those items legally mine. Yet due to either incompetence, negligence, or complete disregard for policy, the associate sold what I had already purchased to someone else.
This kind of behavior is a glaring example of poor management and a lack of training. If this store can’t even manage basic online orders and respect their customers’ purchases, why should anyone trust them? I’ll be thinking twice before ever doing business here again. The Gamestop at the Baybrook Mall is MUCH better. The associates were so nice, helpful, and...
