No greetings, just how many? (in party) we sit and that was it, not friendly, seemed he didn't want to be there. Waitress took appetizer order and drinks...but took off and again, no real greetings. We had to stop her later to put on order. Waitress went past us 6 times and she looked at us with empty drink glasses and again we had to stop her. Every time we had to stop her it was like we were the lowest of any priority...we said, can we get a refill, she said "yes"...not sorry or any other word..then she went to clean 4 tables, they didn't take long to clean, but it was super slow in there and nobody waiting..we were waiting for drinks, we should have been priority, not the empty tables. Sodas tasted bad, they had a very odd taste. Meals were ok, editable, certainly x2 the cost of what they were worth. The sausages could be better from any grocery store. 7 May 6th and 80 degrees and still not opening patio...also golf not open either. Do they only open 2 months a year or something? Waiter I notice was spilling a drink drastically for a full 15 feet. Seemed crazy, like a sprinkler (NOT exaggerating, was he on drugs?)...he was the one that sat us as well. Waitress wasn't helpful, friendly, or anything but we did notice when people were ready to go, then it was now time for her to became more normal and helpful. We noticed people getting rolls with dinner. About half way through ours we asked and her response was "she forgot".. then although we stopped her for that she ignored an empty drink again so we had to call her back and again and got another quick yes and off to do something more important..which was never anything. 3 guys leaving bar as we were going, swore about the bartender saying he shouldn't be one and joked and being mad at same time. (I can't say for sure but I think it was the same guy that sat us.
2nd try, we went for a quick lunch, maybe it would be better? ---we wanted lunch and although it was May and 80 degrees the lunch restaurant was still not open yet...maybe in June? Geez Still windows covered for winter. So the supposed great views and fresh air wasn't there. We were told (by same waitress we had before) it would be quite a wait and I saw people in lobby couch, not sure if they were waiting or not...but since she didn't bother to say anything else, like name on list or have a seat or anything we just decided to stand there. Like 2 minutes go by and a much more friendly guy we never saw before seated us. So why did she say it was a long wait? And did we get in before others that were waiting? We had 3 different burgers and fries. My wife said hers was decent. Man was HORRIBLE, I have no idea what they did, but it just tasted bad. I can't remember ever having a burger that tasted as bad as that. We noticed people waiting for VERY long periods just sitting staring at the waiters, waiting for any help for many things. Drinks, food, bill. One good waitress could have done the whole restaurant and done it well, but they just had no service skills at all. Won't be back even if the paid me.
We did talk to our resort about them for a while, they described different people working there (so we these "older" people working in there new? Or just the bad ones?) Either way, there are so many better places to go...or should say every place would...
Read moreWhile on vacation we visited this restaurant and had a fantastic first experience. We ordered from the happy hour menu and the drinks were so good we decided to return two nights later. When we returned we specifically asked again about the drink options for the happy hour menu then ordered. When the waiter brought the check the balance was not the happy hour price ($8/drink) but it was more than the regular full price ($12/drink) on the menu. The total was priced at $15/drink. When I inquired about the bill the waiter informed me she actually couldnât honor the happy hour price for the drinks she told us we could get for the happy hour special. The manager then came over to tell us it was impossible to honor the happy hour price because their drinks were actually premixed. When I inquired why the waiter would tell us it was an option to order that drink as a âwell drinkâ if it was impossible to change out the alcohol she had no answer except her waiter obviously messed up and it was some how our fault she told us wrong. She then proceeds to tell us that the drink is too expensive for her to be able to honor the drinks at the price the waiter originally told us they would be. She explained the only thing she could do is charge us full price but make our second drink free. This actually made the bill less than the price wouldâve been if she had just charged us the happy hour price.
The manager in this situation is unfortunately really bad at her job. Not only did she make her waiter look bad she also completely ticked off her customers. If she wouldâve just apologized about the waiter accidentally telling us the wrong drink that was on special and honored the price the waiter told us the restaurant wouldâve made more money ($32 vs $26) and gotten an...
Read moreOur party of five was greeted warmly and quickly seated. Our waitress arrived at our table shortly thereafter and took our drink orders. We ordered a couple of bottles of wine. The wine selection will not break the bank, but has some nice offerings. Four of the five of us ordered pasta dishes -- three pasta primavera and one bacon and shrimp pasta. The waitress dropped off our food after a short wait. The pasta primavera came with veggies that resembled frozen (taste and texture) and there was no hint of a sauce on the dish. The bacon and shrimp I ordered afforded me two bites before I could eat no more. It was as if raw bacon were placed into lukewarm water and then the pasta was boiled in it, then the baconny pasta water was reserved (or not drained) and was the base of my awful dish. I had the same vegetable issue as the pasta primavera. The waitress took entirely too long to check up on us, as my nearly untouched meal was to the side of me, which should have served as a hint that something was wrong. After I finally got her attention, she alerted a manager (the same lovely person who greeted us) and she was very apologetic, offering to make us a new meal. I promptly declined, as I had no confidence the kitchen could produce an edible product. The manager then told us she would be comping our meal. A nice gesture, to be sure. The reason this review is two stars, versus one, is solely due to the way the manager handled the situation. This is particularly unfortunate, as the location of this place is great. Too bad...
