I left a 2-star Google review yesterday. I was pressured on my birthday weekend to pay $40 to attend a meeting on Sunday at 11. I tried to get the salesperson to waive the fee, but she looked terrified and said she would get written up if she didn't collect. They called my friends room Saturday at 10 AM and said my meeting was in an hour at 11. We were on our way out the door to breakfast. My card said Sunday at 11, and they were supposed to make arrangements for that and change it in their computer. On the day of the meeting, my parents drove hours to spend the last night with me and arrived at 10:55. I decided family first and helped them get settled in. My boys had begged me not to go as they recall waiting for 2 to 4 hours during "updates" while on vacation to Disneyland, Seaside, and Birch Bay! Also, I was only offered a $75 Tango gift card to attend. My time is much more valuable. At check in, the sales office had also tried to get two of my friends to attend for a 7 night stay. I had the same sales lady as last year at check-in, but she didn't hard-core pressure me then. That was a nice experience. Worldmark, I will NEVER purchase more credits. The fees and housekeeping charges increase every year! I texted last night, and they said they would forward my refund request to the concierge. I received no response yesterday or today until minutes ago when they read my Google review. The response sent was to call a number included in the response to resolve the issue..the phone number is disconnected!!! I did see a similar review from someone else about the disconnected number. I have owned Worldmark since 2006 when it was Trendwest. I have defended Worldmark for years with my only disappointment being the hard pressure tactics to get you to go to meetings for information... that NEVER is just that! So many vacations I dread getting conned into meetings. I finally paid off the loan this year after my husband recently died. I am embarrassed to say I paid $20,000 in interest on that 9.9% loan. My boys and I have such wonderful memories at many condos as a family of 4. Please do not ruin our stays! I will completely avoid the desk at all sites from NOW ON. I once gifted a wedding day stay to my family member at Birch Bay, and they were pressured to attend a meeting...3 hours after they were married!!! I can tell you my friends that have stayed with me will never buy into Worldmark. No one likes the pressure! Very disappointing...
Read moreHigh pressure sales, dishonest bait & switch tactics and no integrity at all. At check in, our friends who are owners were HASSLED to schedule an owner update - truly ridiculous. We were offered a 7 day stay at a Wyndham Resort of our choice if we attended a sales presentation. I asked specifically if we could use the stay in Las Vegas and two different sales people assured me yes, we could use it any of the 3 resorts in Las Vegas - they even took the dates and pretended like they were going to check on availability. After 2 hours of sales presentation, during which the manager stated I was scared of the dollar amount and needed hand holding - we said no thank you and asked for our incentive. The incentive was emailed to us, and when I logged in that evening to register and request the Vegas dates, BIG SURPRISE, no Vegas resorts were included. If you want to go to Stateline Nevada, Arnolds Park, Iowa, Ruidoso, New Mexico or Conroe, Texas this could be worth your time. Also, you don't have the option to view the resorts - you just have to submit a request for dates and pay a $150 deposit and at least another $199 for taxes etc. and then wait to find out if you have a room. I'm pretty sure there will NEVER be availability.
Of course, I was told by the Sales Operation team that we received our incentive and they can't do anything else - and no contact from the numerous people I contacted. Here's my advice - Worldmark/Wyndham Resorts have some really wonderful resorts - if you are an owner or a non-owner, don't attend anything without having the offer in writing, and don't buy anything without having the "too good to be true" offer in writing (they won't put it in writing). It would be nice if the owners could visit the resorts without being chased down and hassled to attend an "owner meeting", i.e. high pressured sales meeting, and if the employees will lie straight to your face to meet a quota, this is the culture that is encouraged and expected by the corporation. This is a corrupt corporation that takes advantage of people with lies, high pressure sales and bait and...
Read moreWe were fortunate to stay with friends who are Worldmark owners, and the resort itself is very nice and in a wonderful location. WARNING: Do not attend a sales presentation and if you do, GET ANY OFFER IN WRITING before attending. We were told we would receive 7 days free at any Wyndham Vacation Resort of our choice if we attended a 90 minute presentation. I specifically asked if this would include Las Vegas because we are planning to go next year for a wedding. Two different sales people told us that yes, we could pick from any of the 3 Las Vegas locations - they even took the dates and said they would check availability. ||||Big surprise - 2 hours of sales presentation (Monica was wonderful) later, we said no thank you and requested our incentive. We received an email with the incentive link, and guess what, Las Vegas was not included. In fact, it was a list of random places and you can't even view the properties on the website. You have to request your dates, and then wait until 45 days before travel to know if there is availability - I'm willing to bet there will NEVER be availability. You also have to pay a $150 deposit when you submit your request. ||||I called Worldmark Leavenworth and was told we received our incentive and they can't do anything about it. I emailed numerous Worldmark employees at all levels -never heard anything. People will BALDFACE LIE to your face to meet their quotas - I also know Wyndham/Worldmark is well known for deceptive practices with their owners too. So disappointed with the dishonesty, lack of communication and shady bait and switch tactics. We will NEVER buy from this company - Shame on you all for your lack of integrity and blatant...
