I loved walking through the island and reading the trail posts. The ponds were frozen, which added to the winter theme, it was ridiculously cold.

There are several paths you can take, with some circling back to where you start, but some do lead to surrounding establishments, so, pay attention.

A must for anyone visiting Leavenworth. It is a short and easy walk around the island. Bikes permitted, strollers would have no issue navigating the terrain. The entrance the summer day we went had a warning about momma bear and cubs, but we did not see them. Did see deer, who seemed not bothered by people. Many people had inner tubes and were drifting around the island. ...

Beautiful in the winter time and the perfect place to watch the sunrise from one of the bridges. While you are checking out the park, make sure to continue your hike in both directions to check out the other two parks nearby that are equally worth the...
