OK. I ate at this place probably about 3 to 4 months ago. I stop by the NH Wine and Liquor Outlet fairly often (just confessin') and noticed that even with the COVID restrictions, the Weathervane in West Lebanon was pretty busy.
So, one night, my wife, 19-year-old son, and I stopped in to check it out.
What a mistake.
First of all, I felt like I was in a cheesy tourist trap sporting a lobster theme somewhere in Maine. For real. I've eaten at the Weathervane in Concord and in Nashua and never felt that way. No bueno.
The food. I wish I didn't even have to remember it. I'll just put it this way...I swear they shop at BJ's across the street, nuke your dish, slap it on a plate, and bring it out. I'm serious. If there was video footage of that happening I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. Not only was it not good...it was BAD. My son got the Fish-n-Chips and this is one of those places where everything fried tastes the same. Yeah, that's great. So if you order anything fried, just say, "I'd like my food fried." It won't matter WHAT you're ordering because it will all taste the same. But, it will be fried so there is that.
Bugs. Yes, I said bugs. We had flies circling our table and landing on our food. For real. It was almost funny to watch the flies get shooed away from our table only to go to the table next to us and bother the other customers. Yeah. It was funny until they came back again, again, and again. And then, it wasn't really funny anymore. Oh, and then my son saw a dead roach on the floor. That was about the moment I decided I was through.
But actually, come to think of it, I was through about the moment I entered the restaurant.
Do NOT eat here. I would rather just eat frozen fish sticks from Shaw's. Either that or drive to the Weathervane in Nashua or...
Read moreIt was pretty busy. hostess seated us fairly quickly. We looked over the menu, and waitress hadn't come to take our drink order, 20 minutes after we sat down. When waitress realized we were waiting, she was a few tables over and yelled that she would be right over. Ok. When we ordered our drinks, it took her ten minutes to get our two drinks. When she came with our drinks she seemed annoyed that we were ordering dinner. When our dinners came out she shoved the plates in front of us and didnt ask if we needed anything else and rushed away. I called her back because we needed ketchup, vinegar, and mayo. She didn't want to get it, but reluctantly got it. Then she disappeared the rest of the meal. I think she noticed us done with eating, she appeared saying, "blueberry cobbler?" Um what? No how was the dinner? Are you interested in dessert? Would you care for a refill on your drink? None of it. My husband ordered the blueberry cobbler and the chocolate lava cake. Chocolate LAVA cake, nothing lava about it. It was cold. When waitress saw I wasn't eating it, she asked what was wrong. I said it's cold, no melted chocolate. I cut it open and the chocolate was like frosting, no melted lava at all. The waitress seemed rather defensive giving me excuse that she isn't allowed to but it in microwave for more than 30 seconds. I doubt that she did put it in for that long to begin with. Rather than argue with me, she should have taken the cake and reheat it for me. Mind you when she brought the desserts she just shoved them at us like the dinners. Dropping the spoons, and like 7 straws with no new drinks. I've had the lava cake there before, and the chocolate was so runny like water. Tonight it was awful. Service was awful. We will...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would! Worst customer service possible waitress was not attentive and rolled her eyes as if we were a bother to her. There has never been a time where I refused to leave a tip but I refused yesterday ! When we arrived our silverware was dirty absolutely disgusting! Our waitress could not be bothered so we had to ask another waitress to bring us clean silverware! when I told our waitress the seafood chowder did not taste right the fish had a jelly coating assuming it had passed it’s time she sighed and said she would get her manager ! I explained to the manager the food was terrible and would like both items removed from my bill, My salad was great other then 4 massive hearts from the lettuce ends in my bowl. The second waitress was a sweetheart and did help us without a complaint. If I could have tipped her I would have probably only thing keeping the business because it’s clearly not the food. My partners fries were soggy and fish was so cooked that you could barely break it. The waitress never offered to refill our drinks or ask if the meal was okay I had to ask a second waitress to help us. On top of that she handed the check to us and never offered us a box for a new soup, replacement nothing was done ! This is clearly how they are use to treating their customers! The manager came to the table I told her the issue she said ok and left never to be seen again not even an apology! Train your people clearly they lack it ! It’s safe to say I’ll never go back and on top of that I am very sick tonight possibly food poisoning off the dirty silverware and soup that I thought would be good. They should’ve offered a free meal and they did nothing I will never go here again lost...
