Spacious and clean, ok food, reasonable prices, but "iffy" service. We went on a Saturday evening to see an old high school friend's band playing. This was our first time in the place and were surprised to see the bowling alley and everything that was really quite spacious and clean. We sat at one of the open tables near the stage and saw the band tuning up; after several minutes we were a bit puzzled because there were no servers, no wait staff taking food orders nor drinks on the floor. I went to the closest of two bars and had a bit of a wait just to get my drink order taken and I inquired about the menu. I was told that there “might be servers that come to the floor after the restaurant closed.” –Mind you this would be 3 hours from the present. So we left the stage area and went into the restaurant where I observed a lot of hustle and bustle, but also that we were totally ignored trying to get a table. I managed to pull a person aside asking how to get a table and was directed to a different door (front )where they were taking reservations with a 15 minute wait. Interestingly my wife was shown to a table and seated immediately in my absence. It took about 35 minutes to get a hamburger and sandwich; all in all not bad for a peak Saturday evening dinner rush, however every single individual of the staff that stopped at our table kept apologizing for the delays, (again which we didn't really mind.) I did notice that the bar in the restaurant was fully packed with about 25 people sitting all around it, and we noticed a fair amount (~15) pretty agitated customers waiting to get their drink order taken at the corner station of the bar; my estimate is that the 15 people in the growing line waited an average of 6-9 minutes to get a drink, & most were visibly impatient --so I could understand their frustration. Most popular places that I have visited usually have at least two bartenders taking orders at the bar –this was not the case and I just didn't see any sense of urgency as the lone bartender casually took orders and served drinks. Things seemed very disorganized and confused, surely in need of...
Read moreI hate to write reviews that are less than 4 star but this was earned. There was ONE reason why I rated this low and I debated giving only 1 star. Our server was horrible. She was very nice but that is where the positive story ends. She was also very young and it could have been her first night on the job. My g/f and I were there on Saturday 11/12 mainly to see the band. Our first time there. We arrived around 7p. We were seated (to see the band) and it took over 20 minutes for our server to ever approach our table. In the mean time, i asked the doorman (who was the only employee that ever gave any attention to us) for help. He did get our server to come over but we waited another 10 minutes. I also went to the bar and ordered two beers and brought them to my table. That bartender was good - accurate and efficient. When our server finally came we ordered two more beers fearing that it might be a long time before we saw her again. When she came back, she didn't remember that we had ordered. We ordered again. When she brought the beers, we ordered an appetizer and told her that we would probably order dinner. We saw her a few more times and when we tried to order dinner (8:40), she told us that it was too late and that they were no longer serving food. She obviously didn't remember our earlier conversation nor were were ever told that the kitchen was closing. We were a bit annoyed. There could be good reasons why our experience was so negative but we were never given a reason (not sure that our server knew that we weren't too happy). We did notice at least two other servers. The bar was not very crowded. I doubt that we will ever go there again (unless the band Anthem is playing) and it is a shame as it looks like a fun place. Management needs to address these issues with this server. They should also consider keeping the kitchen open a bit later on a...
Read moreDespite the reviews, we wanted to give this place a try as Lord knows Lemont could use a decent place to eat. Well, not happening with the Quarry. Our server, Kelly was the equivalent of a fourth grader who was socially out of touch. She shows up at the table next to us and asks to take their order, not looking at the table that had drinks, used dishes, silverware, etc and is shocked when the customer states he is waiting for a check. She giggles and announces she is so tired because she worked the morning shift? (It is only 1:30 PM) Never apologizes and makes her way to our table. We hear the same story, her not understanding that she is so loud we heard the whole thing already. Takes our drink order because we have waited so long for her to arrive, we have decided on food as well, but announces she will take it when she returns. At this point I am expected her to arrive with drinks, napkins and silverware. Nope, just drinks. The entire meal was delivery of one thing and disappear (where do they go for so long?) and after two or three trips you finally get what you asked for. Food is average at best, fries so soggy they tasted greasy. When we complained one of our dishes was just awful tasting she made no effort whatsoever to apologize or replace it or just take it off the bill. Instead, several trips after the complaint she analyzed why we didn't like it. Note to management, on the average cc customers spend 67% more each transaction than if they used cash. So if you can not find a way to lower your overhead, manage your kitchen cost better and run this place like you want to stay in business, then close. A 3% cc fee is the nail that will close your coffin quicker than one of your servers can get to a table. Guaranteed we will not give this place...
