Very small amount of Sushi for the price. August 3, 2023 Grandson wanted to have sushi at Akita's. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews. At 5:45 p.m. there was only one other customer in the place and no one arrived during the time we were there. Also, did not notice anyone coming in for take out. NO WONDER! $12.99 or more gets you 4 small/medium sized piece of so-so sushi. Grandson finished his first plate and was still very hungry. He order a second "roll". Again 4 medium/small pieces that cost $13.99 this time. I prefer cooked fish sushi and ordered sushi that was clearly marked as cooked. Although there was cheese melted on top, the scallops inside the sushi were completely raw. I ate it anyway as its not something I usually make a big deal about. However, folks should be aware that they need to make sure that the ingredients are actually cooked if that is what they want. The wait staff were two young ladies who were constantly talking to each other and checking their cell phones. Not once did our waitress come to check if everything was good with our order and she never refilled or offered to refill our water. When grandson's 2nd plate arrived, she took away the first plate along with his napkin. I had to grab his chopsticks and fork so he would have something to eat with. She did not provide another napkin nor did she ask if he needed anything. Very poor, inattentive service, overpriced, and just average sushi. I will never return. Read moreFood was 4 stars out of 5 but had to wait over an hour to get 4 sushi rolls. If you ordered take out or walked in off the street to order, they had priority over dinning in. Although I did see a 3 top and a 4 top leave before us and they came in after us. Akitas knew we were unhappy so they offered free dessert which they were sold out of. Bill was $50 minus 15% which was a joke. Left unhappy and we did tip so discount was canceled out. Apologies don't make the bad...
Read moreThe sashimi is spectacular, the sushi even better. I had the sushi and sashimi combination which included tuna, salmon, I believe snapper, a standard sushi roll containing avocado and cucumber, and nigirizushi of the respective sashimi types. The fish is fresh and the rice cooked correctly. The service was also exceptional (thank you again for your attentiveness). I would certainly recommend this restaurant to any picky sushi...
