If you ever have a deep hankering for ramen, then this is as good as you can get around the Harrisburg area. The spicy Japanese ramen hits it quite close to sate that umami flavor you get from authentic ramen. The broth is rich with just the right level of spiciness, and you get a good serving of noodles. The pork chashu is on the lean side and there’s only about three bite size portions. It goes well with gyoza on the side, which you can have steamed or pan fried. We also got the fried squid legs as appetizer, which is basically calamari but with the tentacles instead of the squid rings.
You can tell that it’s family owned and operated, and that’s a plus for me. I like “mom and pop” establishments because you are almost always assured of great service. I used to tell my culinary students all the time, people will go to your restaurant for the food, but what makes them come back is the service.
The place itself is simple, clean, with straight up, no nonsense food service. They serve complimentary bottled water, so do order some drinks to help support the proprietors. They have take out and accept cards. It’s in a small strip mall with ample parking. There were a couple of other ramen fare that I’d like to try and I think it’s worth a...
Read moreI love this place, it has been a consistent restaurant that me and my boyfriend visit for the past three years. The menu is vast and has a variety of different options to choose from. My personal favorites are the ramen and dragon roll. The food has been consistently good as well as the service. The owners are always friendly and recognize our faces when we drop by. Sometimes the wait can be long when the restaurant is crowded, but it is definitely worth it when you can finally get the delicious food. Occasionally when the timing is right, you can even get some small cups of tea after your meal. I personally enjoy dining in, but take-out is great as well. The display of the food may not be as aesthetically pleasing compared to in-person dining, but at the end of the day it tastes just as good! This place isn’t the cheapest but the quality and care of the food reflects the price of what you order. I definitely recommend...
Read moreFirst visit today. I ordered Seaweed Salad and received a larger serving that I have at other restaurants, at least 1/2 cup of very delicious seaweed salad with toasted sesame seeds. I also ordered Oyster Tempura, 3 small very clean fried oysters very tasty. Finally, I ordered #22 Spicy Shrimp Roll with tempura fried shrimp. Wonderful sushi roll. All presentations were very nicely done. My companion ordered the Spicy Japanese Ramen, which is very spicy and he enjoyed that very much. To finish we shared the Fried Ice Cream - Large frozen ice cream, encased in fried cake, served on top of banana, with chocolate sauce drizzled over all and whipped cream with strawberries. Absolutely fantastic and totally delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and polite and explained all the dishes we asked about. Restaurant is small, simple and very clean. Highly recommend Nagoya Japanese...
