I've visited this restaurant a few times, but the experience has been inconsistent. Unfortunately, my latest visit was the final straw. The food was mediocre, and the sauces were a letdown. The sriracha sauce didn't taste authentic, and the hoisin and sriracha bottles were dirty. Our table wasn't properly cleaned, either.
I ordered the fresh spring rolls with shrimp, which were fine except for the peanut sauce, which lacked any peanut flavor. My son's plain noodles came with an unexpected side of soup. I ordered shrimp pho, but got something else which required me to visit the counter to request the correct order. I also noticed a couple of flying insects in the restaurant which makes me believe that this is an even worse problem.
Throughout our meal, the service was inattentive. Our server never checked in, didn't offer refills on water, and seemed disinterested. At one point, I even spotted the same dude sleeping at a table near the counter.
Needless to say, I won't be returning to this restaurant. While some dives can serve great food, this place falls short. There are better options for Vietnamese cuisine in the area, and I'd recommend exploring...
Read moreWas looking for a Vietnamese restaurant while visiting in PA. Pho 3 Mien had good Google reviews so I thought I would try it out. I got the beef pho, pork chop over rice, beef over rice, and pork chop with egg over rice. The pho soup was more on the sweet side - not something I’m used to, but it was flavorful. If you use the soup to eat with rice, it kind of balances out the sweetness a bit. The pork chop was mediocre. It’s a little thicker than the pork chops they serve in New York Vietnamese restaurants. The sauce was also sweet. Each rice dish came with a side of pho soup, which I appreciate because it’s not something that’s offered in NY and I normally order pho on the side just for the soup. Didn’t have to do that here. The Thai tea and coffee is the same in every Vietnamese restaurant in my opinion. It’s my go-to. I wanted to try a dessert but was looking for shaved ice. They had a 3 flavor dessert, which I inquired about but didn’t order because it wasn’t shaved ice. If I’m ever in the area again, I would probably try other Vietnamese restaurants. This was a nice sample of Vietnamese food in PA. Didn’t even get to try their hoagies (bahn mi)....
Read moreI would not order from this place ever again. I spent 95.00. I wanted to try the food that I love and see how good they are. I ordered pho 3 mien, it was ok. Second egg rolls yuck. Third spring rolls now how can anyone screw up on these but they did with the sauce, it was horrible. Forth vietnamese crispy pancakes, they were so bad I had to spit them out they were not edible. I also order a cold sub which I did not try yet. I gave 1 star and that was for the pho which could have been better. Some of the things I had order twice as it was for me and my granddaughter. I will not be back as I will be going to Pho King from now on as they have way better food than here. Did try the sub the next day it was bad. The roll was stale and the meat was sour. Also they do not give the right vegetables for the food. I don't know how they got a 4 1/2 stars on here. Everything I brought expect the soup went into the trash or to the dogs. I am really mad paying all this money and most of the food was inedible. These people do not know how to cook...
