So, I never shared my experience at the China Palace in Lewisburg on Monday.. It was absolutely ridiculous!
I walk in with my nephew and my daughter around 2:50 pm. We are placed at a booth, I asked for a high chair. (Which i never received. Makayla is 2) JJ goes up with me and Makayla to get food.. everything is old with a very small amount left. Not having anything earlier that day to eat, we got what we could and sat down. The food was so hard, dried out, and cold we couldn't finish what we had. So we waited for fresh to be brought out. They had also brought me the check after we sat down.. Jj goes up alone to get some more to eat and says he couldn't get anything else. (I was thinking maybe he was being picky) I go up with makayla to get fresh food and there are NOTE CARDS STATING "DINNER CUSTOMERS ONLY"!!! So I think to myself, well maybe we came right at dinner. As I start putting food on my plate a man walks over to me (waiter) and says "No, not for you. Dinner only" I replied, " We have only been here for about 10-15 minutes and the food was old and cold when we got here." He said, "Well, you eat lunch, not dinner." I said, "You mean to tell me we cannot eat the fresh food that was brought out?!" (Mind you, there are NOTE CARDS on each dish) He then tells me I could if I pay for dinner on top of lunch!!!!!!!! I say, "no, we are done here", and I make sure I let him know how stupid and ridiculous that is! So then a woman comes over. (I'm assuming she is the manager) She asks me what the problem is and I tell her. She says Yes, only for people who come in at dinner. So I tell her again that the food was disgusting and we couldn't eat it and told her to look at the plates on our table. She says, "Disgusting, what do you mean? I reply, I mean it was DISGUSTING, gross, cold, and old!!" Then she says she will only add 4 dollars to my already 22$ bill. I said absolutely not! I only paid 10$ and I only did that because I had a refill and we had ate a little bit of what we had. She also had the nerve to say it was on me if we couldn't eat it. REALLY?!
I just thought that was insane. If you want to keep people coming to your restaurant AT LEAST let them have fresh food. When I have went anywhere else at lunch/dinner change I have never had this problem. AND I HAD 2 KIDS WITH ME!!! Makayla wouldn't even eat because it was so gross.. I would never recommend China Palace in Lewisburg...
Read more10 years ruined!!! I have went to this Restaraunt for about 10 years at least 3 times a week and loved there rewards cards.( get a stamp for every $12 spent and when the card is full get a free buffet) I had saved my stamps for over a year and had 3 cards full so decided to cash them in. I took my husband and my 12 year old brother. When we went to check out I reach the cashier ( a new girl) my cards. The last stamp on the card was from 4 months earlier. The e girl proceeded to tell me that all 7 of the stamps with her initials beside them which were in the middle of the cards out of 36 stamps were counterfeit because she never never circles her initials and she wouldn't except them. The stamps themselves are very small very detailed Chinese words and could never be counterfeited but the initials were? Doesn't make sense. And the owner or the girl couldn't answer the question as to which if I was so desperate to get Chinese food as to counterfeit stamps then why would I counterfeit them then wait 4 months to bring them in. The owner caused a very big scene and embarrassed my family then told me to ask my 12 year old brother for money and then snatched my wallet and started looking at my credit cards and trying to run them. This business is so money hungery that after me spending $ 432.00 to get these stamps they didn't want to give me a free buffet than I earned. I have never been more embarrassed or disgusted in my life. It had the money to pay for my meal but it was the pint of the matter. This Restaraunt is out for money only and does not care about there customers and they use a large amount of MSG in there food to make you thirsty and drink a lot to fill you up so you don't eat there food. And they bring you a new drink after you take one sip to keep u drinking to get full from soda. You are hungery again 30 mins after you leave. And they also use food from the buffet the day before on the buffet the next day. And if they see you getting more than 2 plates then they think you are eating to much and they then bring you your che k before you eat dessert and try to rush you out. And believe me. You better leave a tip no matter what service you get or the waiter will chase you to the door and ask if you need change so you can tip them. This Restaraunt has changed hugely for the worst in the...
Read moreWe aren't terrible picky or demanding when it comes to dining out. We just wanted an edible meal after a long , hot day. As we were seated we noticed there was no, none, zero air circulation. The small dinning area was muggy and fecund with the smell of hard-boiled eggs, human sweat and the smell of chicken manure. The wet scent permeates the building. At the buffet the food looks exhausted and dry. The choices a mediocre hybrid of Hunan and American fare. A single bite into the first sad dish and I know this is going to be disappointing. Disappointing and probably lead to actual food poisoning.
To my own surprised incredulity the coconut chicken appeared to actually be thin pork chops breaded and sliced into strips. The sauteed shrimp was unpealed, hard, dry and flavor deficient. The general tsos was toothbreakingly unchewably hard. The "Sushi" was slimy with seaweed that had, by its flavor, been soaked in dishwater for a day or two. We informed the waiter of our masticatory difficulties & the foods unpleasantness, only to be told they would make More of the same inedible fare to replace the current congealed offerings. We waited a bit, but the promised replacements never arrived. We elected to give up, abandon any shred of hope that actual palatable food would appear, and set off grimly to pay the unearned $18 buffet/person bill. We mentioned again that we hadn't actually been able to eat the food, but no offer of compensation or refund was forthcoming. The headache started a mere 6 miles down the road. Soon the pain in our heads was joined by the rolling nausea and cramping I had feared from that first, unpleasant bite. We had a choice to make, we had to face the reality of out situation... We stopped at a gas station to purge our bodies of the bacterial Invasion- we made ourselves vomit it all up in a desperate move to avoid hospitalization later that night. We literally paid $37 to vomit in a gas...
