Shoney's — Restaurant in Lewisburg

Shoney's is your typical chain buffet style restaurant, a south eastern staple for a long time, though sadly slowly disappearing. The food is usually decent, but quality can vary from restaurant to restaurant.

Shoney's in Lewisburg, WV, however? This place is hands down the absolutely best Shoney's in the State - and I know cause I've eaten at every single one left! They have some of the best cooks around with food that tastes great! The bar food is kept fresh so no wilty lettuce here or questionable broccoli - the salad bar is inviting and so is the hot bar. Oh, and I still stand by my statement that Shoney's has the BEST macaroni salad of any restaurant. It's NOT sugary and sweet!

They have great wait staff too - we almost always have friendly, attentive wait staff and the best hostesses.

My mom and I stopped by for lunch after visiting the endodontist. I could not be more PLEASED with our visit. The FOOD, the SERVICE, the ATMOSPHERE, the FOOD!!!! The buffet was excellent. The fried fish - fish and chips style, beer battered, mild fish... OMG. The greens, the meatloaf, the fried chicken, the mashed taters and gravy, the salad bar, the EVERYTHING. There's only one minor item that I wasn't crazy for - the fried apples. But, being a minor item, and since there was only one such item on a giant buffet... I completely overlook it. I anxiously await returning this coming Tuesday. Oh, by the way, WE GOT BREAKFAST TOO!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. Wednesdays is breakfast all day! Tuesdays is seniors day. Tried the buffet for first time. Great salad, water with lemon and his soda brought over refilled often, good server for this and asking I'd we needed anything else. I had a huge salad and that would be great but paid for an unlimited buffet. I wasn't feeling g best and body was craving salad so it was deliand fresh honestly here. Maybe they have a special salad bar 1 trip price? I will check when I go here another time. The 20 plus bucks, maybe a bit less honestly looking back was expensive for 1 amazing salad and water.
