Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy Store — Restaurant in Lewisville

I've a very huge lover of Braum's burgers but I will never visit this location again. My family and I stopped at this location late on a Sunday evening about 7:35 pm. I went inside to order 2 #1's and 2 cheeseburger kids meals. I admit when I went inside I noticed it was quite a few people in there but most were there for only ice cream. They have to lines, 1 for ice cream and 1 for ordering food in which they have workers for both. It was about 6 employees working ice cream and 5 working food. I placed my order and my receipt read 7:38pm. I didn't receive my food until 8:27 pm. I noticed people that came in after me receive their food before me. I also noticed one of the employees making sure a family of about 6 get there food before me because she knew them and they came in 30 minutes after I placed my order. When I realized what was happening they realized noticed my frustration and anger and told me my order was up next. It made no sense how long I had to wait on food fro. This location. So if you dont have much time to spare and you want Braums, this is not the location I suggest for you. My 4th visit here. Prices are great but "customer comes first" service is poor. My favorite ice cream dish is the banana split. For some reason Braums won't accommodate me when I ask that the dish be put in a cup (instead of the tray) so I can eat it while driving. They say they don't know how or refuse saying it's against company policy. Ordered over 100 times in my lifetime at Baskin Robbins. Never been a problem there.

I've tried to explain "just put the same ingredients in cup instead of the tray." Another customer came to my aid today saying the company is committing the the ultimate sin not putting the customer first and not thinking outside of the box. After a bit of public pressure, the employee finally gave in. I instructed her step by step on how to put the ingredients in a large cup. "Split the banana, drop it in the cup, three scoops of ice cream, put usual toppings and a cherry on top." She was clueless. Afterward, I asked "was that so hard?" She was amazed at how simple it was. I asked for a spoon and I was on my way. Never got to thank the other customer who came to my aid.

Sad to see a chain so stuck in the box who will most likely never reach market dominance or gain this potential customer. Back to...

While this Braum's had the typical good tasting burgers that Braum's stores are known for there's not much else good that can be said about this visit.

Before even entering the store, it was clear that this store was one of the oldest in Braum's fleet. It needed a facelift and a paint job, or a total remodel to Braum's new design standards.

Once inside, the floors were dirty and sticky. Behind the counter, one could see trash, dirt, and years of droppings from Malta and shakes on the floor drain and outlets that only a flood or steam cleaning would be able to remove.

The table had been wiped down, but it was sticky and I needed a sanitizing wipe to get the stickiness of my hands when I returned to my car.

Unfortunately, my favorite part of a Braum's visit (a vanilla melt with double malt) tasted like they made it with half the malt instead of double malt.

My friend asked me if I thought they would be offended if he went back to the counter and asked for a fly swatter. The place was thick with flies.

All-in-all, it was an experience I'd rather forget, and not at all what I've come to expect from Braum's...
