I visited here on yesterday. I'm giving it a one due to the employees with an exception of the cashiers. It was my first time visiting and I was excited as soon as I walked in the store. I'm trying to be on this health regimen now and I was taking my time looking at everything, specifically the teas because that's actually what I went there for. It showed on the traditional medicinal website they were the only ones with the specific tea I wanted. At first everything was fine then I noticed I was being watched. People don't understand not everyone like myself is a thief. Additionally, you have to be mindful because I love this scripture, You maybe entertaining an angel. I hope I have no need to return back. It's very sad . At this point I wonder if I was being discriminated against. The audacity to watch and follow me and pretend you're asking me if I need assistance but when I ask you about the tea and spices if there truly organic, the young lady could not provide an answer because she didn't know. Maybe their focus should be doing more research on what's being sold in the store rather than watching me. The Caucasian guy with the glasses went to sit up front to get a good eye view on me. I couldn't believe it, but I still maintained professionalism when I could have...
Read moreThe other comments are correct. All of the staff here is racist. So if you are a person of color, do not come here. Immediately when I came in a white blonde lady came up to me wondering what I was doing there. Initially, I had to return a package from Amazon assuming 14 carrot wholes food was the same as a regular wholes food market. (I couldn’t be the only one who thought this). She made a statement that I wasn’t from there and I made a long trip to get there to return it and told me to go to a wholes food market in Columbia (where she thought I was from) to return it there. I’m actually from Lexington. Her immediate assumptions of where I was from gave me red flags. I have never been to 14 carrot wholes food and thought it was the same if not similar to wholes food. I don’t deem that a terrible mistake. She wanted me out of there and literally walked me out. Terrible place to go. All the employees here are racist and disgusting. Also, the replies to the other reviews are emotionless and idle. They clearly don’t care. You can see that they aren’t willing to fix their racist behavior since many people are still...
Read moreThis is much smaller than Whole Foods, and has less of a corporate/ commercial grocery store feel, but they pack a lot in this store and are usually very well stocked. I don't think I've ever come here and not found what I was looking for, which I can not say for any of the other health food stores in the Columbia metropolitan area. They still have the feel of the kind of store that might be able to get something if they don't have it, unlike most stores these days that will tell you they "get whatever the distributor sends them."
The store management is helpful, knowledgeable, and hands-on. They will come and help you if they see you looking like you can't find something. Don't hesitate to ask them if you have a question.
They've got just the right amount of parking. The only thing I don't like is the traffic I have to deal with getting there and back due to the location. Otherwise, I'd go more often.
The prices, like all health/ specialty stores, are higher than the average...
