I arrived at Another Broken Egg Cafe at 10am for brunch with a good friend of mine. We were told it was a 45 min wait (not a problem…we drove across the street to grab some coffee and waited for a text from the restaurant to let us know our table was ready). After 45 mins we drove back to ABEC to make sure we did not miss their call or text for some reason. The hostess told us that we were fourth on the list. After waiting for an additional 30 minutes we finally got our table. Waiting over an hour for our table was very annoying, but that was the only negative experience I experienced at this restaurant so I don’t want to discourage anyone from eating here. When the restaurant is this backed up, I understand that the food or customers service has got to be good. On another note, the menu offered a variety of breakfast and brunch options. We started off with some mimosas, apple and blueberry flavor. We also ordered some raspberry French toast with chocolate drizzle and an omelette plate. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to someone that is looking for a nice breakfast or brunch location. Once we ordered our food, it took about 20 minutes for it to arrive at our table because the restaurant was packed. I definitely recommend calling ahead to find out what the wait time is or come to the restaurant and put your name on the waitlist, then go run a couple of errands while you are waiting for your table to be ready. The waitress was great. She checked in on us several times.

Very annoying experience!!! So first I ask the waiter could I substitute the meat options (pork) for a beef hamburger patty and he went to ask the manager; who told him they'd have to charge me for a WHOLE burger combo. Mind you, I was looking to get French toast( breakfast option). So I see and speak to the manager who was next to us and ask him the same substitution question (just in case it was a misunderstanding somewhere) and he tells me the same thing. My fiance then asks him and making sure if he knows we're talking about the individual patty and letting him know we were able to do it thr last time we were there. She gets the same answer, so now I'm turned off from breakfast and asked about the burger and fries. They don't have fries just "country" potatoes. So I decided I didn't want anything at all, just to pay for the drinks and be gone, that process took 10 minutes!!! Now the manager comes back and tells me "sir, we can add the patty for $1.99". By now all i wanted was the check, i was beyond threw with it all. Just to get the check which had a sweet tea at $3.79, orange juice at $3.99 and strawberry mimosa at $9.29. $17.89 for the total and their "military discount" to take off $0.38 off the tea, $0.40 for the orange juice, instead of 10% off the whole total?!? Horrible experience and it was only 11:20 am on Wednesday which wasn't very busy at all! Maybe 6 other people around, so there's no busyness or rush hour excuse in this. We didn't leave until 12:20pm!! We kept having to wait for the check. Unacceptable all around

Update 12.17.22 Food has improved since first report. Better cooks probably. The Hash Brown Benny was very good! My favorite was the Huevos Rancheros! Excellent! They seemed to change the salmon benny from the menu but I didn’t try it. Original Post: Another Broken Egg just opened up in Lexington and I have desperately wanted to try it out. I have previously been to their Devine St location several times and loved it. The ratings on the Lexington location were down but most dealt with waiting too long. Upon arrival my Bride ordered the Huevos Rancheros but unfortunately they came out on the coolish side which is not great. My modified Salmon Benedict was mediocre but I did modify it to a standard Bendict rather than the lox and bagel erroneously called a Benedict but didn’t have hollandaise sauce etc. My ordered concoction was pretty good but maybe it was the hollandaise that gave a different flavor than normal. To be fair our waitress was new, maybe cook was new and they definitely need to iron out some wrinkles, being newly opened, to come up to the Devine St standards. BTW, they have excellent coffee!!!

Ak I had heard about this place..just never had time to go. So me and 2ic decided to head k or there for breakfast. A late breakfast. When we got there is was packed. Didnt know it would be so packed christmas eve. There were people there waiting a hour. But lucky us we had about a 15 min wait. The bar is first come first serve so as soon as seats opened up we headed over. The staff was super nice..they cleaned the area off and helped us immediately. Since it was out first time I wanted to try something new and the waitress helped me make my decision. The food may have take.... 20 minutes tops. But when I say the food was good oh it was good. I cant speak for the entire menu but what me and 2ic had it was banging. I was surely surprisedd.... in a good way. 2ic said only complaint she had was her pancakes were not hot. We figured they fixed that first and waited to bring all food out. But she said it was good. This is a must go to place. Oh yeah and I forgot they serve drinks!!!! So I am sure they will see us more.

My wife and I came here last Sunday with another couple to have breakfast. Sat outside on the patio which is nicely covered from the sun but still lets the cool air circulate. Love the delicious coffee here, and the mugs are designed well to keep your coffee hot longer. Ordered a full order of beignets for the table. Although they tasted good, they may have been a bit overcooked as they were kind of hard on the outside. I got the crab cake benedict with plain grits. Beautiful presentation, and grits were good, but crab didn’t have enough taste for me. My wife had the lobster and brie omelet, which she she thought was just ok and didn’t care too much for the cheese. Our friends had the city grits, but said they were not worth the extra charge. I don’t want this to sound like a negative review, because it definitely isn’t. I just wanted to provide some honest feedback/constructive criticism. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast and will definitely be back. We’ll just order something different next time.

While visiting the area, I wanted to grab some breakfast after my workout. I googled and found this restaurant! Plenty of parking was available when I arrived. When I entered, nobody was at the hostess stand so after standing there for a few minutes, I just sat at the bar. They already had menus out so I looked over it to see what I wanted. Appx 5-10 minutes later, I heard a noise behind me and turned to see an employee at the hostess stand. He came around the bar, introduced himself (Raymond) and took my order. He was really friendly but he was very efficient. The atmosphere was very laid back, clean, and quiet. The food was sooooooo delicious!!!! Everything was hot and fresh!!!! I ate the Buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs, and chicken sausage inside. I got my husband the sunrise scrambler and he said that it was delicious as well. I will definitely be back when we come back to the area to visit again.
