Pizza Kovachi — Restaurant in Lexington

31May2024: After only one week in town we have gone to two pizza spots in town. I have to tell you though, I'm unsure that anyone will be able to beat this pizzeria. It should be mentioned that this is not a dine in establishment, takeout only.

Food: 5 stars due to high quality ingredients, vast selection and very well priced. We ordered the Chicken Tzatziki Special pie and it was so good, i ate too many slices! We also ordered the cheese pie for the kids and they asked for more. For dessert we got the Cinnamon swirls and they were dangerously gooey!

Service: Lia was very polite and delightful to talk to. She explained how long they had been in business and how they enjoy what they do. The staff was all friendly and appreciated us coming in to give them a try.

Atmosphere: The establishment was very clean and smelled like any food that was made there, was going to taste good. There were three different seating areas, each with different chairs and I appreciate a good chair, so I thought this was important to mention.

Will be going again!

The first time I went to Kovachi's, I waited for an hour and a half. That's no exaggeration, I watched two episodes of COPS and a half episode of Family Guy before my food came out. When my food finally came out, it was the wrong order.

Of course, I've always believed that people and places have off-days, so I tried again. On this particular day, the restaurant was only half as populated as before, so I was a bit relieved; however, the wait was still very close to an hour for two unaltered menu items.

Was the patience worth it? No. The portion sizes were very "American": big plates with far more food than a normal sized man can eat in one sitting. While that should be a plus, unfortunately, I found the food both times to be lacking in flavor. As far as Italian is concerned, this is as Plain Jane as it gets. The tomato sauce, to me, was very bland and, unfortunately, they essentially covered my entire plate in it.

This is not a place that I would recommend to anyone; in fact, I'd likely point someone in the direction of an Olive Garden (shudder) before...

Called these guys for a easy delivery on a Saturday night for my wife and son. Orders and after not ariving, called an hour later to check the status of my order to which they tell me that the order has left for our address. Call back thirty minutes later (now at 1:45 since I placed the order). Guy said no one was home, and was knocking on the wrong door. Instead of calling us back they just left. I called them back and they tell me they couldn't get ahold of me, they didn't have my number, I asked them if they had caller ID. They said yes, and then there's the fact that I just called thirty minutes prior to check when they told me it was on the way. No Excuse, these guys obviously don't care about customer service and I wonder if management/owners know that they are basically throwing away money and their employees are wasting time. This happened starting at 7:15 on 2/25/17. Come on guys this could have been resolved with a simple phone call. Now I have an angry wife and hungry toddler. We will never patron his...
