UPDATE: The first few months of 2023 has been a great improvement. Food is cooked more consistently and the service has changed for the better. I still go pretty much weekly. Glad to see them with an open dining room.
UPDATE. 9.14.22 The last manager hasn't been seen for a few weeks. Younger and far less experienced girl acting like a manager constantly complaining every time I go. Then she gets fed up actully working and yells I'm tired of this shut down the dining room. Now she was drive thru, another lady on inside register and a cooks. The only problem was they were busy and she couldn't handle it like a professional. Close it down or put some type of effort in on fixing the big mouth problem.
UPDATE. 10.26.21 Things have been good and bad but over the last couple months I have to say the food is more consistently cooked well. Service is good and I enjoy eating here again.
Update. 7.8.20. Been a good run with a nice manager keeping thing going even in tough times. Today new manager and horrible food. Greasy fish, way old and over cook hush puppies. Got my order wrong. Just one big mess. Never been this bad that I can remember. Bring back the old manager please. 6/2018. Im all for being fair. I go once a week and i have to say I've seen improvements on the food and the cleanliness of the tables. No more over or under cooked crab or fish. OUTDATED. I have to knock a star off. I've been going every week since open and now that the start up manager is gone, my fish has been under cooked, super greasy or way over cooked. Food is not as good as surrounding others. Read moreSo this is the third time in the past month I pass through and decide to enjoy some of that fried fish and shrimp. No bake potatoes same thing last time through. The excuse we close soon. It’s 7:45. You close at 9:00. Then the rudeness of your employees at the window taking my order. They keep rushing me while I’m scrambling on the phone trying to text and see what my family wants since there no baked potatoes. She then claims she can’t hear me. So I raise my voice into the speaker. Then the employee tells me not to yell. I’m only yelling because you said you can’t hear me. All attitude for there out. Then once I pull up to the window I witnessed this employee eating hush puppies and licking her fingers. No excuses for this. The manager defended her saying she doesn’t touch the food. Come on, she does and handles money and passes the food and drinks. After explaining to the manager what happened, another employee from the back walks up laughing at the fact I’m upset. Refund my money I’m out. 5-6 employees are working at this time. It was because of lack up help just terrible training and bad attitudes. Read moreThe cashier taking orders was very confused, gave both myself and customer before me the same order number. They got their food quickly, my order was apparently lost, as I didn't have my own order number. Took much too long & I had to inquire about the status of my food. She finally got my food for me. Also there was NO ice! ( During lunch ) Cashier kept handing out empty cups, then all customers had to bring cups back, to her, to be filled with ice. Why she didn't just fill cups with ice initially, since she was very aware there was no ice, that customers could access. Finally another employee attempted to pour bucket of ice into soda dispenser, but she missed, sending ice all over the place and creating a fall hazard. Attempted to sweep up spilled ice (a lot of it) & ended up leaving wet places all over the floor. Rather than mop/ dry the dangerous wet floor, they merely put "wet floor" warning signs out! Condiment and drink area was very dirty, & wet. I love Capt. D's, but will not return to this location. In the past I have used the drive thru and been treated rudely or had my order be incorrect. The food is great, it's a shame that the staff is not. Shout out to the staff at the Bush River Rd Columbia SC location, who always do an exceptional job! Maybe they can train the Lexington...
