Let me start off by saying as a buffet connoisseur of all kinds, I was impressed. I had only been here once prior, but it was several years ago. Long enough to only vaguely remember the quaint details of the interior while forgetting entirely what their food was like. That being said, tonight, they redeemed themselves. After spending far too long deciding where to eat, we decided to go to LCB (Little China Buffet) for dinner. I, too, was skeptical visiting after seeing their daunting 2 star Yelp review, (hopefully this will boost their rating considerably higher where they rightfully belong) but I'm glad I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Their prices are competitively priced for their buffet, especially for dinner, considering most other local Chinese buffets in town are higher at $15 a person. It was only $10.99 on a Sunday night for several plates full of delicious food. The service was good, and once you sat down it was DIY (they have a drink machine to refill your drink at your own accord), which was nice as an introvert. The food was fresh, hot, and plentiful. Definitely recommend the coconut shrimp. It is a total game changer. The sushi bar was a nice touch, but it lacked clear labeling. For dessert, if you can somehow stop eating the Chinese doughnuts, they have an ice cream freezer where you can help yourself to scoops of several flavors (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream and orange sherbet). It's worth mentioning that you don't have to get the buffet. It's also an order and sit down restaurant, if that's more your speed. They also have free WiFi. 4 out of 5 stars because while it's not the best buffet I've ever had, it was, in a word, impressive. This was the first of seemingly many visits to LCB.
TL;DR Do not fret the low Yelp score, this hole in the wall buffet is a gem with reasonable prices. You can also opt out of the buffet and order off the menu. The coconut...
Read moreI tried this buffet today for lunch for the first time, as I am new to the area and have been checking out different places to eat, and I love buffets. The food was alright. There were some things that I enjoyed. I liked the different types of chicken, the steak, the crab ragoons, and the take out cups/plates. My recommendations are to make sure the food is fresh and tasty and to consider visiting other local Chinese buffets to see what the competition is like and make a plan to see how you can improve. I have been to other buffets, such as the eastern buffet, which is near by, and enjoyed the food there more because it seemed more fresh and there were more options. The price of this buffet was about $16-17 with a fountain drink, which is about the same as Eastern Buffet, but eastern had more options and the food was tastier and seemed more fresh. I know that restaurants are probably struggling due to the increase in food prices right now, but as a consumer, I am also searching for restaurants where I get the best bang for my buck due to increases in the price of food. The cashier was kind and I enjoyed my...
Read moreI usually just come here for the chicken and rice soup because it's around the corner from my house. Every time I came in and saw the buffet it looked decent. Well I decided to try the actual takeout. Trying somewhere new I will always order something generic because how hard is it to mess it up? I got Lo-main and my kiddos got sesame chicken with some fried cheese wonton. The lo-main was very bland with more vegetables than actual noodles. The fried rice was okay. The kid's sesame chicken had a very heavy sauce to it, it was very very thick and lacked flavor. The fried cheese wonton was strong with onion flavor and wasn't a sweeter type of wonton which we like. Was it edible... I mean I guess.. Was it worth close to the $30 spent.. Not really. I do give it 3 stars because they are always friendly and I love their chicken and rice soup. Will I get takeout from here again, probably not. But I will still get the chicken...
