Centro — Restaurant in Lexington

I felt so frustrated trying to communicate with the barman there. We ordered "The Rita" cocktail and I asked the barman if "The Rita" means margarita. He said yes and asked us what flavor we wanted in it and we said jalapenos. When we got our drinks, it tasted and looked nothing like a margarita. It had pineapple juice in it (which was NOT listed on the ingredients list and definitely should since people could be allergic to it) no salt on the rim, no lime flavor and you could barely taste the jalapeno or the alcohol. I brought the drinks back and asked for an improvement for the jalapeno and the alcohol since I didn't want to pay $9 for a pineapple juice I didn't even know I ordered. When I tried to ask the barman why there is pineapple juice in a margarita since it's not traditionally made like that he was being vague and rude, hinting that I don't know what a margarita is and finally interrupted me when I talked more about it. Centro was exactly what I’d expect from a classy downtown Lexington bar. The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and perfectly decorated for the vibe of a college town.

The highlight of my visit was the bartender, Madi—a senior at the University of Kentucky—who couldn’t have been sweeter or more genuine. She brought so much personality and charm to the experience, all with that unmistakable Kentucky twang. She served me the most delicious strawberry mule I’ve ever had, perfectly mixed and served in a cute copper Tito’s mug.

I went to this bar and I placed my phone on the bar for a second and someone took it. I asked the managers to please review the cameras and he said he didn’t have access to them, what type of business doesn’t let the manager have access to the security cameras. The following day My husband goes back to see if they were able to review the security footage and he gets told the manager might be able to review but probably not because they get too busy.
