Donatos Pizza — Restaurant in Lexington

Found myself unexpectedly spending a few days in Lexington and the first night I needed to find food fast. Though I am admittedly a pizza snob, I figured I may as well just stick with a chain place even though I had never tried Donatos before. I’m very glad I did!

First the food. I just went with a basic pepperoni pie, but I realized too late that I forgot to tell them I’d like it to be a little extra crispy. It is typically my experience with chain joints that if you don’t mention crispy as a preference, you tend to get doughy pizza. Not here though! My pie was baked perfectly. The ingredients were solid and it tasted much better than I expected. I’ll go 4 stars on the food, which for a chain place is something I never thought I would do.

So why the 5 stars overall? As I said, I was unexpectedly spending time in Lexington. While waiting (I ordered takeout), I happened to start a conversation with a very nice manager whose name I unfortunately can’t recall. What I do know is someone I assume was his brother also worked there. If they weren’t related, they definitely enjoyed the same restaurants as each other. Anyway, both these men were incredibly kind and offered me several suggestions of where to stay, some things to do while I was in town, and even told me their upcoming schedules in case I needed anything and wanted to stop by again for a chat. Sadly, I didn’t make it back by before getting back on the road, but if I am ever in Lexington again, I know where my first stop will be! Anyway, kindness like they showed always deserves 5 stars! I have went to another donatos Pizza last week and for some reason the pizza wasn't good and decided to come over here to this one because I don't like sauce on my pizza and ISABEL was so informing to know about the menu and was very patiently to me she told me that she had only been doing this for 2 weeks and I thought that she was doing great. I would like to say that I had to get two pizzas made and they was really great because the taste of the dough is different than what I had before they was very patient and understanding with me and I was able to just order a salad but I would recommend this donatos the customer service is great the cleanliness of the restaurant is good Dave was so nice and has been busy the whole entire time that I've been here due to UK football game everyone has worked with a smile on their face if only everyone in customer service would be like...

We order Donatos pizza at least 2 times a week from this location.. and here lately when we ask for sauces like blue cheese salad dressing we have not been getting it so we ordered pizza last night and some wings and I asked for four sides of the blue cheese salad dressing I told the little guy I don't care to pay for it just make sure we get it so guess what we did not get it so I told my fiance that I was going to call and complain because this has been happening too much there lately so I called and I spoke with a guy that took my order explain to him I did not get the blue cheese like he assured me that I would get he told me that he thinks Kroger's has blue cheese dressing and I told him I don't think I ordered my pizza from Kroger's very bad customer service very bad so we will not be ordering donatos at that...
