TL:DR Yes, they cater, and I'd highly recommend them. Now, onto the full review. We are so excited to share our experience with DV8 Kitchen, who catered our wedding! We first discovered them at a local bridal show, and I can honestly say they completely turned our wedding catering plans around. Initially, we were feeling stressed because every catering option we had come across was either way out of our budget or just didn’t have the flavor or creativity we were looking for. So many options were either bland or overpriced, and we were starting to feel like we'd never find the right fit.
That was, of course, until we tasted Dv8's food. From the first bite, we knew we had found the perfect caterer. The flavors were incredible, the dishes were creative, and everything was prepared with such care. We were immediately sold—not just on the food, but on the entire experience.
From start to finish, the team was nothing short of professional and incredibly friendly. They worked with us on the menu, helped us select dishes that would appeal to a wide variety of guests, and were always responsive to any questions or changes we had throughout the planning process. Their communication was clear and timely, which made the entire planning process so much less stressful.
On the big day, the staff arrived in a timely fashion and set everything up efficiently. The presentation was beautiful, and we could tell they really took pride in making sure everything was perfect. The food was not only delicious but beautifully displayed, and our guests couldn't stop raving about it. We had a wide variety of food (i highly suggest the chicken orange marmalade on a biscuit) , and each dish was a hit. It's been 2 weeks, and guests are still raving about how great the food was!
One of the best parts? Their pricing was extremely reasonable, especially for the quality and service they provided. We never once felt like we were paying more than we should, and it felt like we were getting a top-tier experience without the sky-high costs other caterers were charging.
Since we first found them, we've been so in love with Dv8 that we’ve made it a tradition to have a weekly date day at their establishment. It's the perfect way to relive the amazing food and vibes that made our wedding day so memorable. We can’t recommend them enough—if you’re looking for delicious, high-quality food, professional service, and a team that truly cares about making your event special, look no further than DV8 Kitchen. You won’t regret it! And a very special shout out to Michael for being the real MVP during the...
Read moreIf want want great food, a fun atmosphere, and to support a wonderful endeavor, eat at DV8 Kitchen! This place will touch your heart. It's mission is so noble, and you will see the positive impact it makes in people's lives the second you walk in. You can tell that hope and joy are being restored to those who work here. I met 2 employees, Stephanie who was so sweet, and Adam, who was so happy and told me he loves working here.
The awesome smell of fresh breads and pastries made there daily immediately capture your sense of smell when you enter. I ordered the breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, gravy, sausage patties and 12 grain bread. The food was sooooo good! The eggs were light and fluffy and delicious with gravy on them. THe sausage patties were huge! The gravy is the right consistency, filled with ground sausage and enough pepper to make it very flavorful and a touch spicy. The 12 grain bread also light-- thick sliced, but not at all dense. And the jam they also make there was fruity and not overly sweet.
In the grass around the front of the building and outside patio is a sea of purple flags. Each flag represent someone who died from overdose since DV8 opened in Lexington in 2017: 12,361 as of the day I ate there. That is heart wrenching to see. But it makes you realize how valuable this place is, and you will not only enjoy great food, but you will feel good about supporting this life changing...
Read moreI love DV8's missional identity, helping folks overcome addictions, etc. I also love their excellent food!
We tried 5 items: biscuit and gravy; orange marmalade chicken biscuit; hot PB&J; breakfast reuben; and a plain cinnamon roll.
The biscuit and gravy, while simple, was quite good, with a wonderfully peppery gravy, thick and with sufficient sausage. Definitely solid.
The orange marmalade chicken biscuit was delicious and filling. DV8 makes the marmalade, and while I like mine less sweet, it's very good and goes great with the chicken, biscuit and honey butter.
I didn't get any of my son's hot PB&J, on housemade sourdough, but it looked great. He's not normally a sourdough fan, but theirs is mild, and he said the strawberry jam (also made here) was good and quite sweet.
The breakfast reuben was just superb. It was sweet, salty and tangy, soft and crunchy, lots of umami. I wouldn't change a single thing about it.
Finally, the cinnamon roll was delightful. It's closer to a croissant in texture than to bread, which gives it lightness. Not too sweet, nicely cinnamony, soft in the middle.
For the quality and quantity, DV8's prices are a great deal. While we're not in Lexington often, I'm sure we'll be...
