Whoa. I did not expect this level of quality of food inside a comic book store / next to a gaming lounge. May be I had no expectations when I first went in during my Thursday lunch break but I should have known since (at least at the time of my review), this place is a straight 5 star reviews place, and the person who was placing an order on the phone while I waited in line sounded like they made an order for the entire office.
They really made everything from scratch, not just fries (which are not frozen), but right down to ketchup and aioli! The burger, and I disagree with the other reviewer, is not like shake shack - it is way BETTER. Succulent, thick piece of meat, very beefy in flavor, and they really spent the time to pick a good cheese and were generous with it. Bun was awesome too. I also ordered an avocado spring roll and it was quite tasty too and the aioli was again, very good! I was going to split the spring roll with my husband and take some home but someone in the kitchen dropped a piece of the spring roll (1 out of 4 pieces), so they made me a new order and gave me 7 pieces in total! So great customer service there. The level of quality of the food is equivalent to like, a nice brunch place I'd go with my husband that I'd make a reservation and a plan to go there 2 weeks in advance, kind of place. But it's in a local comic book store - which by the way, if you're looking for a quiet to hang out with a friend during lunch, I'd highly recommend! Comfortable, quiet, lots of space.
The mission for this business is awesome and I...
Read moreThis Bistro is located inside a comic book shop. The ordering processing is wonky... first you go to the second floor and order the food from a comic book station. There's a seating area on the 3rd floor next to a gaming arena if you want to dine and they bring the food up to you.
The service was decent. The server was knowledgable about the menu, particularly the Halal options and very pleasant.
The food itself wasn't that great. We ordered the Cluck Lent sandwich with fries and a Great White pizza. The sandwich was fine I guess, but the fries were horrible and soggy. The grilled chicken didn't have much flavor, most of the flavor came from the add-ons. Maybe should have asked for the chicken to be crispy, not sure. The pizza was, well different from what I've come to expect. It's very doughy and they roll the crust inwards on the side to make the crust much thicker on the sides. The toppings were fine. Once again, not sure if I'd want to try it again.
Overall, I think this place is more for getting a quick bite if you're going to be there anyway. Otherwise, there's probably better options. Disappointing considering there are so few Halal options...
Read moreWhat a GEM this place is!!! It’s like a comic book store version of a “Speakeasy”. 😊 You literally are walking into a comic book store and then you’re wowed by the kitchen in the back! After looking at all the delicious food they offer and ordering, it’s suggested that there’s upstairs seating as well. WOW, amazing up there!
