Silks Lounge — Restaurant in Lexington

A+++. We ate at Silk's Steakhouse, next to the Aldenberg Hotel in Versailles, KY, on Friday, 10/3/2025 and loved it!!! The exterior appears to be an older but elegant building, similar to many Kentucky downtowns, and we entered through the lobby of the Aldenberg Hotel and it was gorgeous!! We live in Lexington (KY) and immediately felt like "we were on vacation". The restaurant entrance has a great floor splash that says "Silks" and will be included in the pics. The staff are genuinely professional and personal. The restaurant is clearly upscale but dress is casual; I would be equally comfortable wearing a coat and tie or jeans and collar shirt. Upscale casual. I love the open seating and the bar area looked very cozy. I believe our server was Ashley and she was a delight; she checked on us just the right amount of time. The ambience is designed for a dinner conversation-dinner jazz playing softly overhead and I could hear every word my girlfriend said (not so in many louder restaurants); the acoustics are superb, and I was relieved I was not forced to listen to other couples' conversations. The chandelier was especially nice! (pic included). The meal started with bread that was delicious on its own, but the butter had a unique taste that was perfect. We had spicey osyters as the appetizer and it looked and tasted like something from the excellent restaurant show, "The Bear". We had the bone-in filet despite the $81 price (hers medium rare, mine rare plus) and it could not have been better. The steaks are broiled but I swear mine tasted like it was cooked over an open fire. We had mashed potatoes and mushrooms as shareable sides and the mushrooms were an unexpected homerun. The prices are on the higher end, but the experience makes this place a bargain. It doesn't matter what you spend for an experience this nice.
