The Winking Dog — Restaurant in Leyden Township

I remember this place as a kid and at now 33 yrs old hasn't changed a bit. Old school chicago style foods. Burgers gyros hotdogs. Got 3 dogs and large cheese fry and I should have ordered less a large cheese fry is a whole large styrofoam container of frys covered in thick cheese no little cheese cups here. Also didnt realize dogs have frys on top of them so your getting a whole meal per dog. Delicious food generous portions thought grabbing food for myself but had enough for rest of family to eat dinner. Staff was really chill there as well. Sweet blonde girl at the register took my order prompt .would take this over...

I have lived in this area now for a year and literally I go to this place two times a week I absolutely love the winking dog and I love my tomato Rosemarie soup and the manager there even if they’re not serving it he makes it for me they are awesome people there the food is awesome I have never ever not one time had a bad meal from there and I’ve ate there over 50 times in a year!!! I even bring my grandkids and my family when they come to visit as our go to restaurant. I also love to go and get a cup of soup have a voice water and play the slots I’m always lucky on the slots there the slots are...

So i have been going here for years... every time I think... its gonna be fast... 4 hotdogs took 20-25 minutes. You can see the owner just watching everybody... What! If i was the owner i would help push the orders through.. Maybe he is just to old to be working and needs to hand the reign to someone else... So 4 hot dogs were $15 dollars... what this is not Gene and Jude quality to pay so much... The hotdogs have shrunk too... I got a handful of fries... Its basically the only hoy dog stand besides Nanas and Scoobys... really not a good...
