I was back there yesterday again to my favorite restaurant in Youngstown Ohio, for some "HALAL FOOD". The place had a few changes to it, for better of course. The owners are the sweetest couple I have come across they immediately recognized me by my name and welcomed me back as if I was one of their own; it was such a special feeling. I did not place any order of my choice as the super chef (the husband Sunny) recommended me to try their new dishes out, the Amritsari Fish and the Chicken Jalfrezi with the ever so fresh Garlic Naan (bread) and Cheese Garlic Naan. OMG!!!! the Fish Amritsari was prepared by the boss (the wife Sunaina). It was "SUPERLICIOUSLY FANTABOULOUS", the taste was so good, with the perfect blend of marination and so tender yet crispy. The Chicken Jalfrezi left me MESMERISED. The gravy sauce which was well done was so HEAVENLY. It was seasoned with the right kind of spices to enhance the taste and garnished perfectly with the right kind of elements. Full marks for presentation. There was a new kind of drink introduced to me which just got me refreshed and rejuvenating. It was known as the Lime Mint Soda!! Alhamdulillah for such an evening which felt like home by the kind of hospitality and the taste of the food. Just one problem...I couldn't get up after the meal...I had to call a recovery service becos I hogged a lot. LOLS!!! :) All I can say that this couple the husband and wife (Sunny & Sunaina) used to make lovely food before but now they create Magic!!! I wish I had a place like this close to where I reside.
For those looking for some good tasty and "HALAAL" food this is the place to be. TASTE OF INDIA, Belmont Ave, Youngstown.
Many suggestions have been put as a home away from home however this place tops it. From the ambience created until the see off that is till u leave the restaurant you actually feel the energy and the vibes of being at home. I have physically witnessed this from the couple that owns and handles the restaurant themselves with their team.
Sunny & Sunaina the owners of the restaurant are a multitasking couple who prepare the dishes, serve and ensures that the customers are enjoying every bit of the Indian delicacies. I am yet to see this elsewhere though I have travelled almost over the globe and been to many such places.
The name of the restaurant “Taste Of India” actually brings you the taste of Indian food.
The biryanis, the kadais, the chicken tikka, butter chicken and the list goes endless. One does not need to decide what to eat just order and rest assured your taste buds will bless you.
I usually go for the buffet which is merely $15.00 for any amount of serving since I get to taste all the different foods prepared. To begin with the appetizers like samosas & fritters with a choice between 2 chutneys (spicy and sweet Indian sauce), then the main course of different varieties like butter chicken, chicken kadai, chicken korma, vindaloo, dal makhani, dal tadka and many more until the last sweet dish sewaiyan (vermicelli) is just mouth watering. The food definitely you can eat to your stomach content but not to your heart content and that’s why drives you back to them.
The entire team is really hardworking people and very very friendly. The best part is they encourage feedback so they can keep improvising it.
Sunny is a specialist for making naan and roti (Indian bread). All his bread are par excellent however I love the garlic naan that he makes. Super tasty.
If you feel this can’t be true then try going there or ordering online as they have take away and dine in.
A must go and a must not miss place.
Full marks for the entire team for food, hardwork, hospitality,...

Read moreThe place looks run down but I was giving it a chance based on the reviews. I ordered take out and I got there way before I was told it would be ready and that was fine, i was in the area on another errand so i had no issue waiting. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely friendly and offered me Chai tea while I waited (one of my favorite drinks and it was yummy). This is why i give 3 stars for service. When it came time to get my order, he confirmed it was all there. When I got to my car, I looked at my receipt and I was charged for an extra meal I didn't order. He gave me my money back and told me the meal was in the bag and to keep it. I didn't think to look because I was in a hurry to get home which was a 30 minute drive one way. When I got home, I had the extra item but I was missing the main dish that I went there for and it was the most expensive one on my order. I would say shame on me for not checking but the dishes we did have were mediocre at best. The chicken chowmein with vegetables was 99% spaghetti and angel hair pasta with very little chicken and even less veggies. I basically paid $12 a piece for $99 cent noodles. The chicken soup was good but not very spicy and the steamed momos were tough on top but I'll blame the 30 minute drive because they did taste good. The garlic cheese naan was really good, i highly recommend it. I'm still bent about not getting my lamb dish but I'm not driving an hour to get it. We won't be back. We'll stick with Bombay Curry in Niles. Much better, cleaner and we never have issues...
