Liberty Funny Bone — Restaurant in Liberty Township

I hope this particular franchise does not reflect Funny Bone as a whole. It is being run by a general manager who has no experience and security guards who obviously have low self-esteem, so they like to feel empowered to tell customers to get out. When we arrived, The waitress asked if anyone was new there, and my friend who is visiting from out of town said she was. It was bad enough the waitress didn't know what seltzer water was when she took our order. Towards the end of a show I was enjoying, they brought the checks. When the check came, my friend was charged $7, as she had ordered two. When she inquired about why it wasn't a free refill, the waitress said they never give free refills for soda water, even though she knew this was her first time here. The waitress took the other checks and walked away. Shortly after, the security guard came and asked my friend if she could step outside to discuss the charge on the check. She said no, and she was watching the show and she would be happy to talk to him after the show was over. He left. After that, two security guards came in and one guy says they want you to leave. When we asked why, he said, "don't ask questions, just go or they'll call the police." It escalated from there. The general manager insisted that we caused disruption even though the entire time we were asking them to leave us alone so we could watch the show. Then they refused to get the waitress so she can explain what prompted the call for security in the first place and no one could explain who the "they" were who said that we had to leave. Five cops came but they said nothing and just stood by while my friend calmly tried to discuss it with the manager to understand what happened. The entire time we were talking to the Manager, one of the security guards kept saying just leave, just leave, just get out... And I finally had to tell him he had no reason to be speaking as he was just a security guard and this matter was way above his pay grade. Then the manager had the audacity to threaten to bar us from the club! The rules of conduct are subject to employee temperament and reason evades the minds of the immature and ignorant staff. Why would I EVER want to step foot back in that place?! Shame on Funny Bone and the joke...

I usually go to the Beavercreek (The Greene) location but the comic that we saw was at this location. The area of this Funny Bone is like driving into The Greene. So street parking was hard to come by. I did not know there was a parking garage closer to the Bone. Speaking of which; if you drive too fast down the street YOU WILL MISS THIS FUNNY BONE as it sits off in the back nestled in-between TWO other buildings!! It would be a great idea if they had a sign YOU CAN SEE FROM THE STREET pointing where the Funny Bone is. Anyway, we get inside....May 3rd. that is, & IT WAS PACKED! Their bar is way bigger than the one at The Greene. The inside (where the funny happens) was extremely large....TWO LEVELS!! I was pleasantly surprised. There's an elevator to take you to the 'basement'....THAT'S WHERE THE STAGE IS....if you want to be eye-level. I assume on the other side of the main floor there's a 2nd elevator to take you to the top floor.....I can't be sure. The food was actually palatable....HOWEVER our server assumed that since there were four black women sitting at the same table that the order was going to be all on one check 🙄. We didn't even know each other. She could have asked if we were all together instead of ASSUMING that we were. Also when it came time to pay the bill she neglected to give my mother all of her change back! I believe it was $0.13 or something like that which in the grand scheme of things is not a lot BUT if you guys want all of your money to be paid on a bill then we want all of our change & we shouldn't have to ask for it all back! The food came quick, no pressure to order a 2 item minimum & we weren't sitting on top of each other between tables....actual space for us to move! Would I come back again???? I was very disappointed with the service I received or should I say lack of service I did not receive last night. I came to see Jess Hilarious with 15 other people all family or friends, when the waiter finally decided to come over and take our drink order he got everyone drink of choice except mine. When he returned 30 minutes later with the drinks I politely said can I have a coke no ice please you forgot me, his reply was- it is alot of people he had to get orders for. Never apologized, I'll get that; just an excuse. He then go take the next table order and after that bring out my coke- no biggie. After waiting another 45 minutes he comes back to get our food order which took over another hour and a half to come out with some people getting there food 20 minutes later 5 more orders coming out, 30 minutes later everyone else food comes out except mine. Might I add I was 2nd to order. I said they forgot my order and told him what I ordered. He leaves and come back 15 minutes later only to tell me he put the order in he don't know what happened but the kitchen is closed. I was upset now I've been here since 7 and it show is almost over and I'm hungry everyone else in our party has eaten except me. Then to top it off when he delivered the checks everyone check was combined with other people orders. He never asked any questions on how to separate it, if it was all together or anything all waiters and waitresses ask. He then said u guys can split it up! Some people only had cards and no cash. To say the least this was a nightmare and my first experience at this location. I have been to Columbus and Newport on the levee several times and will no be returning or recommend this location to any...
