Edited** We didn't eat here. Was rebranded gallos/gallups. Very nice restaurant inside. They have 85 seats, nobody was in the place at 1:30 on a Sunday. Wished they had a pool table or something to do. They have a hostess... WHY?. 2 other employees sitting at the bar hanging out. 4 employees chilling on a sunday at 1:30pm.
Usually the chef and kitchen staff aren't just hanging out and sitting at the bar. Very unprofessional.
My biggest gripe is on my tab, I got 2 beers, not tall. Both said 22 next to them..a standard beer is 16oz...I was charged SEVEN DOLLARS for a 16oz miller lite?
They have a very diverse menu and a lot to pick from. It's a little confusing, even the bartender couldn't answer our question said "I'm not really sure what he means by that"... So improper training? Lack of communication? Bad management clearly having 4 employees sitting around. Send them home, lower the beer prices.
I don't think this place will last long. I may try the food but I'm not paying $7 for a miller lite, so I'll have water next time. It scares me with a menu this large, frozen? Or poor quality? Some of the meals are up to $30.
**The owner replied and basically called me a liar.. definitely not coming back ever.
This isn't the way to respond to reviews. We didn't have tall beers period. If you look at the beer prices it goes 7,9 etc so we didn't argue. Paid the bartender and left astonished. Yeah maybe that's my fault for not looking first but never expected a 7 dollar miller.... And even if it was wrong, $7 for a TALL miller lite is still ridiculous....
Read moreI know they are just doing a soft opening but hear me out - wait til the fix the kinks. We went for lunch today and there were maybe 2-3 other occupied tables. There was no staff around, then a server appeared and she was taking care of everyone. I was misled as the promoting they have been doing featured a full team and we expected to be over focused on. Instead it was slow (another table near us asked for their food to go as soon as it came out because of the wait they had). We order only two items, garlic Parmesan fries and a buffalo chicken flatbread. The fries came out cold and soggy after 20 minutes. The flatbread came out about ten mins later and was a pizza. Not a flatbread. And it was burnt. The fries had good flavor and had they been hot and crispy would have been a win. Oh and a fountain drink was $4! The staff was fumbling around and didn’t know how to take our card to pay. My advice. Wait this out and see if they can bring it up to par. The concept/name is fun but the inside hasn’t changed and they need...
Read moreSoft opening, very disorganized with poorly trained staff. Concern about hygiene and cleaning process. I understand the stress of an opening, but they should have trained a bit longer before they opened. This is an experienced owner.
I would wait until they get the kinks out before I go back.
The food was good, I had spicy chicken soup, similar to chicken tortilla with a hint of indian spice. The pastrami sandwich was very good, tender pastrami. They need to toast the bread a little longer. I hope they adjust, Powell needs this quality...
