Your dream sandwich and a delicious iced sweet tea . GO Easygoing counter-service chain known for its sandwiches, stuffed baked potatoes & sweet tea. Nearly three decades ago, a dentist from Oxford, Mississippi had a vision to turn an abandoned movie-set diner into a small, yet charming, neighborhood restaurant & gathering place.
That vision became a reality when the first McAlister’s opened its doors in 1989. The menu then would still feel familiar today packed with the craveable sandwiches, spuds and salads we’re known for – and of course our famous McAlister’s Sweet Tea.
Not only has our menu remained true to its roots, so have our values. Today, with more than 400 restaurants in 28 states, we’re still dedicated to serving great food with genuine hospitality. We invite you to come for the food and stay for the experience. Bring your family, meet your neighbors, celebrate that big win with your teammates or make new friends that share the same love for sweet tea and sandwiches as you – we mean it when we say that our table is your table.
Our food is our foundation - we wouldn’t be here without the 13 layers of our McAlister’s Club or our giant Spuds covered with your favorite toppings. Our goal is to serve handcrafted food and delicious sweet tea that is simple and satisfying – for every palette, even mom’s pickiest eater. We take familiar flavors and add the special McAlister’s touch that you won’t find anywhere else.
As our menu evolves and new flavors emerge, we’re always keeping one thing in mind – you. From our local produce vendors, and genuine Idaho Russet Potatoes to our Rainforest Alliance Certified black tea sweetened with pure cane sugar, we’re committed to serving food that is not only craveable but created with the finest and freshest ingredients.
McAlister’s and sweet tea go hand in hand. To us, our giant 32 oz. glasses of tea are for more than just satisfying your thirst – it’s for moments when you need a refreshing pause from the day’s busy schedule, moments when you want to sit back and catch up with your best friend and for all the cheers in between. Regardless of what the day throws your way, there’s always time for the perfect sip of sweet tea.
That’s why our tea is brewed throughout the day to ensure there’s always a fresh batch waiting for you. Starting with steaming-hot filtered water, our tea is steeped from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ premium tea leaves, sweetened to perfection with pure cane sugar and poured over our special, crystal-clear ice. We take the perfect amount of tea and combine it with the perfect amount of ice, top it with an over-sized lemon wedge and then serve it up with our iconic extra-wide red straw. Our famous sweet tea will quench even the hardest earned thirst…And if you’re still thirsty, we’ll gladly refill your glass as many times as you’d like.
At McAlister’s, genuine hospitality means always delivering that little something extra. Whether it’s an extra smile when you walk in the door or an extra refill as you enjoy your meal, we want a visit to McAlister’s to feel like visiting a good friend. We’re always happy to see you and happy to serve you and want our hospitality to be as memorable as our food.
Our restaurants are not only committed to being better neighbors, but also to bettering our neighborhoods. We want to give back to our communities in ways that matter to our guests. That’s why our restaurants are often reaching out to local schools, churches, non-profits and other organizations to get involved however we can. We value generosity and are proud to employ managers and team members who embrace our culture of giving. From volunteering to running in charity 5ks or working at fundraisers, our team is dedicated to doing all that we can to support local initiatives in ways both big and small. And when disaster strikes, our restaurant groups have been some of the first to donate food, drink and money to help...
Read moreMy friend told me about this place since his work has McAlister's cater a potato bar with toppings. I thought this was a great idea since it was different than the typical food work brings in. I told my wife about this place since they mark gluten free items on their menu. We both tried a baked potato. They were quite large. We could have split one. My potato was hot in the middle, but cool around the edges. I got the Spud Max, which had bacon, ham and turkey for meat. A personal preference would be for ham and turkey chunks rather than chopped up deli slices. I would also prefer a sea salt encrusted potato skin. Would I get the potato again? Maybe. I'm interested in maybe trying a sandwich. I also tried a cup of their chilli which I quite enjoyed. I can easily see myself going back for this but now know to ask for more crackers. The drinks are huge although they fill them to the top with ice before filling. We could have split a drink. It took some time to order our food (there was two cashier's helping people and we were third in line to be helped next). I couldn't help think that a selfserve drink dispenser like most other restaurants use would help move the line along. The interruptions of customers wanting a refill would have been better served if they could do it themselves. Our biggest disappointment was when we turned to the dining room to find most of the tables with dirty dishes on them. I made a comment to my wife that a table runner just dropped off food yet didn't use the large empty tray to bus any tables on her way back to the kitchen. An employee overheard me and quickly cleared off a table for us. Shortly after two other employees came out to assist. I hope this improves. On a follow up visit, I'm changing my stars on this review to 3 (it's okay). I had the chilli again, but this time it was just okay. I also tried the nachos, which had flavor like the kind you get at an arena: horribly fake. I didn't care for the chips, and adding Rotel to the cheese tasted like the only cooking involved in this dish. Not sure why the jalapenos were served in so much juice. I remembered to ask for more crackers with my chilli, but didn't get a spoon when it was brought out, so there was a trip to the counter. My wife got the very large baked potato, which came with one very small pad of butter. It just seems dumb to include such a small amount of butter for such a large potato. If worried about waste, ask if we want butter and then be realistic. Although it was at the end of a lunch rush, the dining area was trashed. Might I suggest letting us bus our own tables or consider having an employee that just works the...
Read moreThis was my second time to McAlister's in Liberty. I have been to others and the food and service were always great. My first trip to the McAlister's in Liberty lived up to my expectations. The salad tasted great and the service was good. This time, not so much. There were a few people in line in front of me. There were only 2 cashiers out of 4 registers. The people ordering in front of me...one large family, the other a lady with two large empty jugs who wanted them filled up with tea. These orders took a long time. In the mean time, I see the manager and at least 7 other people at the food counter picking up orders, all kids no older than 17 it appeared. I was surprised that the manager did not recognize the need for more cashiers. I waited 10 mins as the next person to order. I turned to look at the line which had grown out the door. The manager noticed this and told the kitchen staff preparing the food, that they had a line out the door. And I thought, its obviously not the kitchens fault but the lack of cashiers. As a manager, how did she not see this. I finally ordered and sat. The food came fairly quickly but was sloppily prepared. My sandwich was thrown together. My soup cup was half full and the tortilla chips came from the bottom of the bag, all broken and small. They were not short staffed though. There are plenty of people working. So it appears the management, attention to detail, and lack of training are the issues. I heard multiple others complaining as well. After I was done, I came hear to look at the reviews and it appears there is a common theme. Poor management. Hope they fix this. I've always enjoyed McAlister's but won't be coming back anytime soon. Atleast not till all the reviews about the poor...
