Read moreI don't understand why I haven't reviewed this place over the years. I have been coming here since I was younger and the same owners are there, with a witty joke and a smile. They treat everybody with attention in the brief moments until they whip your sandwich together and hand it to you. Along with delicious pickle spears.
So I don't know what is more the star of the show, the owners or the cute little building with much to look at on the walls, or the food itself.
This is how a corned beef and pastrami sandwich should be. The greatest in all the earth and I'm not being hyperbolic here. If I traveled far and wide throughout the Earth I know that I would not find the same quality goodness.
It's incredible to me that you pay more or similar at a mainstream subway shop like Jersey Mike's or Subway or take your pick.
Burt's deli Is a staple in Libertyville and I'm so thankful it's been around all these years. And may it grace us with its presence for many more years to come.
I totally wanted to do a video for social media because I have a large page on TikTok and I still will at some point, buuuuut it would have been a bit embarrassing because it was very crowded there and all the tables were filled. People would wonder why a Gen X old guy like me is taking video of them and the food and the ambience. But that will happen on another day.
Have I said enough about this place. Maybe not. Go there and check it out yourself and if you are on the fence make this stop instead of all the plethora of restaurants in Libertyville. You know You want to taste the pastrami and cheese and corned beef that melts...
Read morePut this neighborhood gem on your MUST TRY or rediscover list right NOW. Burt's Deli we're so glad we found you! You can shop there for all your deli meats and cheeses. Have them make you a sandwich to-go or to eat there. The Reuben sandwich is our favorite, made with a soft swiss cheese and it is amazing. We also really like the potato salad and surprisingly the vinegar slaw, the regular slaw is delicious too. We can't wait to try everything on the menu. Burt's Deli is tucked away on the side of the Green Tree Plaza. Some of the shops in this plaza have closed but Burt's is still in business and going strong for 30+ years. It is located in the side of the plaza not facing Milwaukee Ave, behind the now closed Baker's Square restaurant, facing the side street Greentree Pkwy. I'm so happy to see that Burt's stayed open while so many other small businesses have had to close. Thank you Mark from Duxler Motors, for telling me about Burt's Deli as we drove back to Duxler's. I love seeing area businesses promoting each other. Please support local businesses like Burt's Deli and Duxler Motors! Thanks guys. We will see you next weekend! Not you Mark from Duxler. The truck is fixed now but maybe we'll see...
