Coming from my hometown west of Philly and moving toward the Pittsburgh area on the west side of Pennsylvania, I took a break from driving and settled in a beautiful and friendly community called Ligonier. I was awe struck by the sign Joe and Pittsburgh Steelers emblem. I walked into the bar, and I noticed that the room was dimly lit, which I liked. There were a few televisions that had sports on and I was greeted by the bar tender who greeted me. I had ordered a yeungling. Read moreMy last visit was not very good. Hence the 4 stars. The bartender took forever to refill drinks despite the fact there were 2 patrons total. Perhaps she was having a bad day. I know I was. Hence needing a drink in the afternoon when I rarely drink and never drink at bars. It is also a total dive bar. It should probably be 3 stars max, but Joe's dirty dive bar hides one of the greatest little secrets. Behind and above, yes above, the actual bar is one of the most elaborate taxidermy museaums I have ever been to. I'm not personally a fan of killing anything. Let alone doing it for display. Oh yeah the guy who owns this bar worked for National Geographic hunting animals for taxidermy. So what did he due with all of his taxidermy animals? Open up a bar and fill it with the animals of course, like everyone would do. It is so great, sad, and weird! Worth a visit for sure...
