My boyfriend and I recently visited this Jamaican restaurant for lunch on a Saturday, hoping to enjoy some good food and ambiance. However, our experience was far from pleasant.
Upon entering, we were met with indifference from the hostesses/waitresses, who seemed annoyed at the prospect of seating us. Despite the restaurant being empty, they acted as if they were too busy to attend to us.
Our confusion only grew when our waitress appeared confused about her role, asking if we wanted drinks and then later questioning if we wanted to eat, as if that wasn’t the reason we were there. It became apparent that they were out of several menu items only after we attempted to place our orders, which was frustrating and unprofessional.
The service throughout the meal was abysmal. Our food took an eternity to arrive, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Our waitress seemed disinterested and barely checked on us, even making the bizarre comment that we could “come find her” if we needed anything.
To add insult to injury, the waitresses were observed lounging at a table in the back, engrossed in their phones, neglecting their duties to attend to the few tables in the restaurant.
Despite the decent food and reasonable prices, the appalling customer service overshadowed any positives. It’s evident why the restaurant was empty during prime lunch hours – the lack of hospitality and ineptitude of the staff are simply unacceptable.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. The management needs to address the glaring issues with their staff’s professionalism and customer service if they hope to retain any patrons...
Read moreOh boy. Where to start. We arrived as a group of 9 after an afternoon of shopping and were greeted with an air of annoyance. The wait staff seemed very overwhelmed with our large group despite only one other table in the restaurant, which had already received its food. We were basically told there were certain things we could not order because it would take too long to prepare, so we kept it simple with burgers/chicken sandwiches and tacos. The jerk chicken tacos arrived first, at least 10 minutes ahead of the next round of food. Despite being brought first, the chicken was barely lukewarm and had a very odd and grisly texture, lacked flavor and was overwhelmed by the mayo in the slaw. It was honestly almost inedible for both individuals who ordered them. There were 2 in our group (hungry teenage boys!!) who ordered the burger sliders, which was advertised as 3 sliders, and only received 1 each, about 25 min after tacos arrived. It was a meal fit for a toddler. There was also an order of fries that never arrived. Due to already being in the restaurant for well over an hour and being on a time schedule, we opted not to bring up these issues because we feared it would take ages to resolve, as the service overall was really slow. With all of this said, the gentleman who served us was friendly and did give us some beef patties on the house prior to our meals arriving, seemingly as a way to make up for the subpar experience he knew we were about to have. Sadly, this was not enough for us to return or to recommend this restaurant to others. I am perplexed as to how this place has remained in business...
Read moreI wish I could do 2.5 stars for the food. It was alright but very bland and seemed to be reheated in a microwave. But what killed it for us, the service was terrible! We walked in, no one acknowledged us then eventually a man walked over chewing food and didn’t say a word to us, just threw menus down at a table and we awkwardly walked over. Then the female server was emotionless and seemed like she had better places to be. Even the rice was extremely bland and dry. No one checked on us for refills on the drinks (needed it desperately for the dry food) then we waited close to 45 minutes for the check after we put our forks down and kept looking around. She was sitting near by with the man that was chewing his food, talking loudly, and ignoring us and the only other table they had next to us. I had to put my hand up like I was in elementary school to get her attention, to which she looked at me, and kept talking to the man. Eventually I stood up and asked for a check. The other table was completely ignored too. Others had walked in while we sat, were ignored, and walked out. A complete mess. 100% will never return...
