During my recent dining experience at Ice House, I opted for the Meat Lover Skillet, enticed by the promise of a hearty combination of eggs, bacon, fresh country pork sausage, Smoky Black Forest ham, homemade home fries, and cheddar cheese. However, despite the tantalizing description, my overall impression of the dish was somewhat underwhelming. As the plate arrived, I couldn't help but notice that the presentation resembled more of a casserole than a traditional skillet. The mixture of ingredients appeared to be piled together, lacking the visual appeal I had expected. The initial impression left much to be desired in terms of aesthetic appeal. Disappointed with the presentation, I eagerly asked the waiter about the absence of my upgraded home fries. To my surprise, I was informed that the dish had already incorporated the home fries. Unfortunately, the blend of ingredients made it difficult to distinguish the individual components, including the home fries. Their presence was underwhelming and failed to stand out in the overall composition. However, amidst the disappointment, there was one shining aspect: the homemade strawberry jam. The sweet, tangy flavor of the jam complemented the savory elements of the skillet, providing a delightful contrast. The strawberry jam was undoubtedly the highlight of the meal, adding a touch of brightness to an otherwise lackluster experience. While the flavors of the various meats—bacon, country pork sausage, and Smoky Black Forest ham—were enjoyable, their integration within the dish didn't allow them to truly shine. The flavors blended together, making it difficult to savor each individual meat. Considering the price point, the Meat Lover Skillet was moderately priced, but the lackluster presentation and difficulty in discerning the individual components made it hard to justify the cost. The saving grace of this dining experience was undoubtedly the homemade strawberry jam, which offered a burst of flavor and enhanced the overall meal. In summary, my experience with the Meat Lover Skillet at Ice House left much to be desired. The dish's casserole-like appearance and lack of distinction among the ingredients, including the home fries, were disappointing. However, the homemade strawberry jam provided a redeeming element with its delightful taste. While the service was satisfactory, the overall dining experience fell short of...
Read moreUsed to be my favorite place. They really do have the best burgers. However, I recently got a new cell phone number and had to update my information in their system. This is where things went completely off the deep end for no reason. When I told the female that answered the phone I needed to update my phone number she let out an overly dramatic and loud sigh and yelled "Fine what's the number!" Before I could even finish saying my number she hung up on me. I called back and the same female answered. I tried to diffuse the situation a bit and said "I think we got disconnected I need to update my number with you guys so I can order" and got immediately hung up on again. Called back again the same female amswered and I immediately asked for a manager. The manager eventually got on the phone and I told him what was going on. That I'm just trying to update my phone number so I can place an order and she keeps hanging up on me. The manager angrily replied "Sir! Excuse me sir! No, Sir! Sir, no!. She wouldn't do that for no reason! If you call back again tonight sir I will permanently ban your name and address!" Seriously?! This lazy lady didn't want to have to go into the computer and change my number in the system and instead of the manager just saying "I'm sorry let me fix your number in the system" he backs up the woman with an attitude that told him god only knows what as an excuse, he makes a blind accusation at me, and backs it up with threats?! Saying "Awful customer service and horrendous management" don't even begin to define this kind of insanity! Honestly, what is wrong with those people?! As your prices went up and portions went down I stayed a loyal customer for the past 20 years. You cannot treat people with such disdain, disrespect and dishonesty just because you're in a bad mood or whatever the heck was going on with her and that manager I will never ever order from Ice...
Read moreI don’t get the 4.3 star rating on google but on yelp it’s actually 3.4 or 3.5 respectively. What I don’t get is how a company can lie to its customers about how their food is fresh and not frozen when you get wings that look like Tyson wings from Wegmans. Another thing, try Jimi’s cheesesteaks and then try Ice House’s. You’ll notice the difference in flavor right away. It’s not fresh at all; the taste of the meat is too bland and fairly dry. Not only that but the prices are way too high for bar food. Just because some items come from another city, we are supposed to believe they are fresh? Where does the meat come from? The vegetables? The Kraft-looking Mac and cheese they give you?? Not only that, their customer service is just horrendous. One time I literally had to call the place three times on a Tuesday just to put a order in. Where is the consistency? Not only that, but I’ve read some of the responses the owner have some of these reviews, and some of his responses just screamed condescending. I know this restaurant is like everything to some of these people living in this small town, but people need to look somewhere else that’s affordable and offers actual “fresh” food. I’ve never had a pizza as bland as the one I had here. The cheese is not even real cheese. How is this restaurant still alive? Idk (maybe because it’s the only restaurant here that has some form of taste to their food although metro 100 might take them out of business for the next five years). What they need to do is lower these insane prices, train the staff better customer service, and most importantly, do not provide false advertisement towards their customers because this...
