We were waiting in line for over an hour and I continuously saw employees going to the back being on their phone, talking to each other, and one employee started counting money in her wallet ! There was at least six -seven employees working. I had pulled to the front of the store and went inside and saw a packed store with only ONE employee working the ice cream bar. All the others were in the back. When I told the employee what happened and how long we had been waiting he said “that’s how it is” I responded we have been waiting in line before everyone else and no one has even gave us an update on our order” and he asked me if I was in the drive through” I responded “yes” he then told me “ I would have to get back in line and wait again” i responded “I already payed for my order” he said “that is just how it is and I will have to wait again” we waited till 9:48 and we ended up getting a refund because our order was still not ready and we got there at the drive through with three cars infringe of us at 8:20 !! I’m upset about the lack of customer service and the fact that the employees were not working instead they were gossiping and on their phones. There were two workers, a guy and a girl. The girl was complaining that she "couldn't deal with the rush" because she had to leave early and the guy that helped me was throwing things, huffing and puffing, upset he had to go and get the pieces needed from the back room. They both were unhelpful in assisting make a decisions and seemed frustrated as we read the menu. My brother, new to Cold Stone, he asked for cookie dough, and they said "we don't have cookie dough" and walked away, instead they should have redirected to the menu.
Also, if you don't want to be open till your stated closing time then Change it! Don't be upset because we, and about 15 other people came during your business hours with an hour and a half before your closing time.
I am sympathetic to a point. I understand that they probably had a rough day due to niceish weather and in the summer months and also people asking the same questions over and over. I also think that they were under staffed, and perhaps that would have eased their issues even if they had one more person on staff till closing.

I had ordered 5 cones, and while we were given 3, she claimed she had already given us 4 of them..I literally counted them for her in the kids' hands and said, we only have 3 cones, we are all sitting here waiting for the rest. She said well, someone took it..finally was convinced that we hadn't stolen a cone and proceeded to make our ice cream. It was awkward, rude and uncomfortable. Even if it HAD been our miscount or fault, you should err on the side of believing the customer, not making the mother show the kid's cones to you. Turns out one of the servers had put it in the register but never made it. When you are spending nearly $30 for 5 ice creams, please don't make me and my family feel like criminals. She then proceeded to make my last ice cream and put in in a cup instead of cone. I didn't bother at that point...just paid and left. part of the problem was 3 people behind the counter all doing the same job. No apology was made. Ruined our ice cream...
