Awful, don’t stop here, might ruin your trip. This place was appealing to stop by on our trip. But it was a mistake. The atmosphere is not what the pictures show and the service is horrible. As soon as we stepped inside we noticed loud music coming from the kitchen, dated decorations, drab colors, dirty tables and nobody around except a nice elderly couple on their way out. We then waited patiently for about 10 minutes before anyone came to the front to greet us. The place was not busy at all. When someone finally came, we asked for a table in the back overlooking the forest because the front was just not what we had expected. The guy told us (in broken English) that if we waited for a few minutes we could get a table in the back, so we waited another 10 more minutes. Then a different guy came out and told us (also in broken English) that he would sit us. We followed him but he took us to a separate small room with just a couple of tables and worse looking atmosphere than the front room; no view of anything other than walls. He just left us there. My wife noticed that a table was in fact available on the back room. We looked for a waiter but couldn’t find anyone. So we decided to move to the open table in the back. Then the second guy comes back and he immediately gets angry with us. Before we could say anything he told us “you cannot sit there because I need room to walk”. He had at least 6 feet between our chairs and the next table. It made no sense. It also made no sense why he would get so angry and rude so quickly. In the midst of all that, a couple of nice ladies at the next table quickly offered their table as they were getting ready to leave. But when I tried to politely explain to the guy that another worker had told us we could get a table in the back earlier and we had been waiting, he got even more angry and told us that he would not serve us and to go somewhere else. We were puzzled and shocked at how suddenly the guy got angry and refused service. It made no sense. We were not rude to him at all, how could we? We had our 7 year old son with us, he was hungry and we had already waited 20 minutes for a table at a place that was not busy. We just left without making much of a fuzz. I hope you don’t make the same mistake we made. Keep driving. Go somewhere else. I recommend the Otis Cafe not far from there; we went there instead and we were treated with respect and enjoyed the food! We also had a nice trip afterwards! :) We were told by some locals that the Wild Flower Grill is now possibly owned by one of the guys that was rude to us and it is not the same it used to be. If that’s so, that person knows nothing about running a successful restaurant....
Read moreWe’ve been to the Wildflower many times and always have a great meal. The service from the two gentlemen who work front of the house however is always pretty chilly. Today it was beyond rude. After waiting for 30 minutes for a table to open, we politely asked if we could wait for the table that had just vacated by the window. He said sure if you don’t mind waiting (thinking this would only be a few minutes since the table just needed to be cleared). Then we waited for over 15 minutes for them to bus the table and seat us. While we were waiting, he sat another party who had come in way after us at a table that had been vacant for even less time than the one we were waiting for. When we Inquired why this was happening, he rudely blurted “if you want a special table, you have to wait.” Once we were seated and placing our order, my husband asked for the special omelette and asked for sour cream on the side. Our waiter, while walking away, said can’t do that on the special. So my husband found the waiter and said if he couldn’t put the sour cream on the side he would have something different. So, my husband did not get what he wanted for breakfast all because our waiter stubbornly refused to put sour cream on the side. We spoke with the owner after this happened who is fantastic and clearly cares about her customers. She said they could absolutely have put the sour cream on the side so clearly our waiter was being stubborn and didn’t want to do it for us. Maybe because we asked to sit at a table by the window that was vacant? Nobody else was waiting so should not have been a big deal. Anyway, it’s too bad that such a cute restaurant with such great food has such surly wait staff. Unfortunately they ruin what would otherwise be a great experience. We had decided we would not return to the restaurant until we chatted with the owner. She was very friendly and seemed to care about our concerns. We own a house right around the corner so it’s a super convenient and delicious spot for breakfast that we will give another try. Unfortunately, if we’re met with that sort of hostility in the future, that will be it. Really unfortunate that a couple of staffers with a bad attitude have to ruin...
Read moreThe RUDEST people I’ve had to deal with. Been coming here since they opened and I’m not sure if they gave up or are under new management but this has been some of the worst service we’ve ever had. Repeatedly. We are locals to Roads End and it’s just obnoxious how bad it’s gotten. The servers think they are above everyone. Seriously just go elsewhere. It doesn’t matter if it’s just calling in a pick up order or coming in to the cafe. The male servers just treat you like you’re an inconvenience and don’t even give you an option to think let alone answer. There is NEVER a warm welcome. Half the time we stand up there and no one ever greets us. Even if they are standing there at the podium doing something else. They will 100% finish what they are doing, no matter the length of time, they will tell you to wait because they are busy, and when they finally have the opportunity they will seat you. The tone and demeanor are almost belittling. Heck they don’t even look you in the face when you’re ordering. If I could give this place negative stars I would but I had to give them one even though they don’t even deserve that. The level of noise in the kitchen is ridiculous between the loud music to the whistling and shouting. When all the servers are in there it sounds like a frat party and that’s putting it politely. We usually are sat in the side room facing the parking lot right next to the kitchen and my goodness. Not to mention they are always on their phones and not doing service. My poor mother tried to call to order food today and they yelled at her for “taking too long” and hung up on her because it’s “the busy time”. She tried to call back, he laughed at her, and then put the phone down on the counter in the kitchen it sounded like and left her there for OVER 20 MINUTES before she finally broke down, hung up. Absolute trash for whatever man child did that....
